How many toilet rolls do you have and what kind are they? Lighthearted!

I keep reading about toilet rolls on here and in the news and got to wondering how many people have in the house. Number of toilets, people and any medical issues will affect this of course.

I'm a prepper since brexit loomed but before then I always bought in packs of at least 9 every 1-2 weeks depending on if it was on offer. I've continued to keep well stocked since having children really because the horrors like to shove entire new rolls down the loo, or unravel them on the bathroom floor, or use them as hamster bedding

So, I have 3 toilets
4 people in the house (3 females, 1 male)
3 of us have medical issues
I have 90 rolls of Andrex quilted because I took advantage of an offer on amazon a while ago and purchased 50 not realising I had 40 already as some of them were hidden in the cupboard. So I'm good for about 6 months I think! I have at no point panic bought. Just added a pack every 1-2 weeks with my online shop as normal over the past 18 months, apart from the amazon order which was a sensible bulk buy and future no deal brexit prep.

I did try the Who Gives A Crap stuff but wasn't a fan. It's got to be quilted. My mum prefers non-quilted though but insists on andrex and did t like WGAC either. She has some emergency rolls in her brexit cupboard though Grin

Tell me about your loo roll to distract me from various unpleasant things in life right now.

Got plenty Andrex Classic.

Had to get my DH off the quilted - blocks the toilet and had to get a plumber out.

Later read that anything over 2-ply can be a Issue

FOJN · 25/09/2020 12:14

About 60 rolls of something quilted.

One person, two toilets, no health issues.

I have it delivered, with a few other bulky household items, on subscribe and save from Amazon. I'm neither a hoarder or a prepper but I'm always well stocked and have spare of everything non-perishable, I hate having to shop because I've actually run out of things.

WinifredSanderson · 25/09/2020 12:17

One pack, bog standard Grin

BlackeyedSusan · 25/09/2020 12:23

erm, have quite a few of the aldi soft toilet rolls left. bought those as one of the children uses half a roll at a time. they are considerably cheaper.

i bought some toilet rolls at the beginning of march for both me and ex, then not again until july when I bought a pack of 24 shades from asda. replaced that about a month ago.

I am buying the normal amount of loo rolls and not really increasing the number put away.

one toilet, two loo roll holders as someone likes a separate loo roll, and three people, all with conditions that increase the amount we use.

WombatChocolate · 25/09/2020 12:34

2 toilets.

About half of a 24 pack of recycled supermarket own brand.

Always used to buy 4 packs but had 24 pack mid-lock down and it’s cheaper per roll.

To add to the excitement of the thread I will add a Q if I may - how many do you get through per week?

There are 3 of us here and we average 2 rolls per week.

Sgtmajormummy · 25/09/2020 12:37

3 toilets, 2 houses (for now), 11 toilet rolls. I only buy smooth TP in extra long rolls.
Yesterday they were having a special offer on “Rotoloni Regina” which could be translated as “Chub-roll Queen”. That was DDs nickname as a breastfed chubster.

So now we have laurel wreaths with MY initial on our TP.
Delusions of grandeur...

3 adults, 2 with IBS. One loo. 81 toilet rolls. I buy 45 every 3 months on amazon subscription but ordered a month early this time because amazon have now sold out again of Andrex.

Feellikedancingyeah · 25/09/2020 14:42

Got some big packs of Charmin on top of our wardrobe from Makro. But we've always done that to save money for the last 26 years of marriage. They are BOGOFF

YetAnotherSpartacus · 25/09/2020 14:46

2 toilets. Currently living alone. I have 110 rolls. That's my normal amount. I have a special toilet roll cupboard (it was here when I moved in!) and I keep it stocked.

OllysArmy · 25/09/2020 14:48

I will be checking today as I now have an empty nest as all DC have been delivered to uni, from where apparently they will never be allowed to return. There will be rolls all over the house as they seem to use loo roll for loads of things. All took a 9 pack to uni with them too.

Anyway back to the thread I prefer Tesco soft rolls and with every one at home was getting through a 24 pack every fortnight. I would imagine that it will last a month now. I will use any brand as long as the paper is white (not coloured) as that gives me irritation.

cologne4711 · 25/09/2020 16:16

I bought a big box from Who gives a Crap earlier in the year. We've still got a fair stash left.

I saw two people carrying large packs of loo roll in town today. I probably wouldn't have even registered it a few months ago. But for all I know they might have been buying their first lot since March!

SistemaAddict · 25/09/2020 16:29

There's none in my local Asda. No kitchen towel either. Everything else looked ok really although low stock of some things but that's a regular occurrence. I only went for fabric softener and Christmas chocolates.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 25/09/2020 16:32

9 rolls, 2 of us in the house. I'm not a prepper, can't be bothered with that. 9 rolls will last us over a month anyway.

LetsPlayAGame20 · 25/09/2020 16:34

Prob have 30 maybe I buy 1 pack costco every so often there was around half the pk left and dh had moved it. I did wonder how we could possibly have run out so I grabbed a 12 pk in asda until my next costco stock up of other items, he then asked why I'd brought more because he'd moved ours under bed!

whirlwindwallaby · 25/09/2020 16:35

24, two people, Tesco £2 something for 9.

MikeUniformMike · 25/09/2020 16:37

Enough, but I was reassured that the woman in front of me in the queue won' run out this side of Christmas and that what she bought was dermatologically tested.

Suzi888 · 25/09/2020 16:37

5 rolls of Asda shades lol

iusedtohavechickens · 25/09/2020 17:03

We have around 60 toilet rolls but 3 toilets and 9 people 😬

60 won't last long as the children seem to think they need a loo roll for every wipe!

marriednotdead · 25/09/2020 17:15

Part way through first of 2 x 9 pack of Asda shades with coconut oil. 3 people, one toilet so it will last a while but Asda isn't that easy to get to.

Not to be mistaken for the pathetic Sainsbury's version which is like sandpaper in comparison. If I hadn't thrown away the receipt I'd have taken it back, had rage of disappointment every time I used it!

OhMsBeliever · 25/09/2020 17:22

I have about 3 packs plus an open pack of 9 toilet rolls, Tesco cheapest ones. There's 4 or 6 of us, 1 toilet.

I was close to running out last lockdown, so one pack is under the stairs in case of emergency, I bought it ages ago.

Porcupineinwaiting · 25/09/2020 17:23

3 toilets, 4 people, 2 incontinent tortoises. We use Who Gives A Crap too and I think I have c 20 rolls left from my last delivery.

bengalcat · 25/09/2020 17:24

4 left out of a Waitrose essential 9 pack

HattonsMustard · 25/09/2020 17:24

We shop at Costco so a "normal" pack of toilet roll is 40! So I must have 80 in. 3 toilets in the house, 2 adults, 2 teen boys.

We used lockdown in March as an opportunity to buy all different types of toilet roll from supermarket brands, no name brands, Andrex to quilted, bamboo stuff online etc. We went back to Costco!

I was actually working out price per sheet at one stage to cost compare. I felt like I was back at uni when we all paid into a household kitty for toilet roll, washing up liquid and hand soap.Grin

MikeUniformMike · 25/09/2020 17:30

Is there a company called Who Gives a Fuck that does condoms?

TheFormerPorpentinaScamander · 25/09/2020 17:45

About 20 rolls. Only cheap Morrisons Savers stuff, but I'm skint and the dc seem to use half a roll at a time regardless of what I buy Hmm
