Boris is DIRECTLY RESPONSIBLE for TENS of THOUSANDS of DEATHS

I can see the appeal Boris in many ways. He went to the college next to mine, I can imagine he would be good company at dinner, he comes across as being amusing and likeable at times.

He is an appalling Prime Minister.

He locked down too late and we paid with the lives of many.

Schools reopened with inadequate safety and no effective track and trace. This will send the numbers of coronavirus cases very high.

It's great that he does not want to lock the extremely clinically vulnerable into a ghetto. However, the above situation makes society very unsafe for us. We are not able to withdraw our children temporarily from school and educate them safely at home.

Watch the mums in their 20s 30s and 40s get admitted to hospital! Cough, mum, cough!

Is this right?

NO

Just adding a bit of balance to what the Torybots are posting.

You're welcome.

@Workerbee80

Biscuit
Well said easy to criticise when you have never had to deal with a pandemic he is listening to the scientists obs op could do better
Ellsbells12 · 23/09/2020 19:56

Most annoying thread op won't back down good luck everyone

HeIenaDove · 23/09/2020 20:42

Really pleased to see the reactions on this thread (because if they bring in any legislation regarding Christmas which puts childfree/childless people at the bottom of the pile i know not to take any notice) Cos if the parents on here dont care why should childfree me. Cheers Smile

Bol87 · 23/09/2020 21:40

I’d argue most parents want their kids back
at school. You have every right to withdraw yours & home educate, off you go.

Boris is atrocious. I hate the Tories. But tough gig.

PanamaPattie · 23/09/2020 21:43

Just here for the lols.

GooseberryJam · 23/09/2020 21:48

So people find the discussion of the deaths of many people boring and are posting zzz. To say those are fucking stupid posts doesn't even begin to cover it.

herecomesthsun · 23/09/2020 21:53

@Ellsbells12

Sorry, back down? Back down about what?

Facts

 • tens of thousands of people have died
 • we have some of the worst figures in Europe
 • we had the example of Italy to guide us that this was an infection to take seriously, and we had time to change the course of events earlier in March
 • we then had the summer to plan a safe return to schools
 • and to plan test and trace
 • this was done very badly
 • we have Tory bots on here writing all sorts of stuff about how wonderful Boris is, so maybe we need to remember these points
 • I can see he has a difficult job- so does Jacinda Adern, so does Angela Merkel (whose outcomes so far have been rather better). This does not mean we cannot comment on what has happened or have a critical opinion on past events.

Tory austerity is thought to have killed 100,000+. They still get elected, voters don't give a shit. Johnson is completely reckless in this handling of covid, he wasn't even around at the start, he went on holiday. He's a personality politician, that seems to be what voters like now.

herecomesthsun · 23/09/2020 21:56

@Bol87

Actually, my children have the right to an education.

AND they have the right to be safe at their schools. That means, in an environment in which they are not needlessly exposed to a dangerous poorly understood pathogen, in the middle of an epidemic. Not shoulder to shoulder with 30 other kids. Not exposed to infection in overcrowded school buses. And so on.

Couldn’t agree more. He should have stuck to “Have Ingot news for you”.The damage is immeasurable. But I don’t think what he’s doing to schools/parents/children and care homes will go unnoticed. At least this could be the back of the tories for many many years. We just have a bleak winter to get through unfortunately.

Sadly spot on.
KenDodd · 23/09/2020 21:59

I see he's also trying to make us feel sorry for him as well, poor incompetent Boris, can't manage on only 150k a year.

KenDodd · 23/09/2020 22:03

At least this could be the back of the tories for many many years.

I bet it won't.

They have learnt how well lying and passing the blame to immigrants/EU/Corbyn etc. works. It has stopped amazing me how much of their corruption and incompetence the voters accept.

sunseekin · 23/09/2020 22:04
@WheresMyAlex

So I agree, you know that no one's entirely bad, no one's entirely good, most people are loved by their mum.

It was a difficult situation and it would be very hard to come out of it with no deaths at all.

They have still done extravagantly badly in terms of death toll across the world,

Track and trace is a disgrace.

And they have put an inexperienced crony in charge of it.

And they now want to reward this person by making them head of the NHS, allegedly.

We need an outcry.

I apologise in advance.

We NEED an OUTCRY because this is a DISGRACE.
Yes to all this.

Arguably a nice man but he’s got promoted beyond his limits.

As my mum says, if he could write however many billion it was and promise it to the nhs, how can we ever trust him or forgive his “mistakes”. So much feels devious and deliberate.

The man was likeable but people have paid with their lives for his blasé, blistering ways. We need to look at how we ever ended up with him in charge.

unchienandalusia · 23/09/2020 22:05

Yawn off op. And on the way go back to Oxford for some grammar lessons.

sunseekin · 23/09/2020 22:05

Blustering!

Blackforesthotchoc · 23/09/2020 22:05

God this is tedious. Lockdowns don't work. That should be evidenced by now. Some people clearly are masochists.

Nope, not lockdowns . In the case of schools, safe re-opening using proven measures borrowed from other countries that have done better than us.

Or the measures recommended by independent SAGE.

Clearly, you have been so bored that you have not read what was actually written.

YogaLite · 23/09/2020 22:17

Boris behaves like a spoilt brat, pushing boundaries in all directions and laughing all of us in the face with all his cronies.

I mean, the honours for his brother and that Russian guy?? If he carries on like that, I wouldn't be at all surprised his actions will bring down royals too - through asking the Queen to approve breaking international law for a start Hmm

Total contempt of everyone Angry

KenDodd · 23/09/2020 22:22

It's the people who vote for them I blame.

It was obvious what Boris and co were like and how much they lied about everything. And as I said, 100,000+ dead and life expectancy actually reducing in some parts of the country because of 10 years of Tory rule.

notdaddycool · 23/09/2020 22:27

Care homes aside I don’t think they’ve done too badly.

LastTrainEast · 23/09/2020 22:31

You know people are arguing that lockdown is causing gazillians of people to commit suicide and that Boris is responsible for locking down TOO SOON.

We should put both factions in an arena and have them fight it out. At least they'd provide some entertainment.

WestieW0man · 23/09/2020 22:35

Kier? Is that you?
