Still no results...!

DD2 has a cough on Tuesday/Wednesday (with a cold... no temperature). Ordered home test and posted it back Wednesday afternoon- tracking shows it was received at testing lab at 8am on Thursday. Was hoping for results this morning but still nothing - anyone with first hand of timeframes for home tests being returned at the moment?

We have a dinner arranged tonight with two friends I haven't seen in a long time and really didn't want to cancel seeing as DD hasn't coughed once since Wednesday afternoon! DD1 (12) is itching to go into town with her friends and is being pretty vile in the meantime... the worst part of isolation!

One member of our family tested at drive through site - results back 20 hours later
Rest of family tested Sunday morning at drive through site - still waiting 26 hours later

justasyouare · 21/09/2020 11:30

71 hours and negative result just received. Drive through on Friday. Hope everyone has their results soon, it’s so stressful!
School want the kids in this afternoon Grin

WickedEmoji · 21/09/2020 11:35

Where do you enter your registration number to check when it was received at the lab?

allinvain · 21/09/2020 11:45

Glad your all starting to get your results now, tested 11am at a drive through Friday. Praying they come today so I can get back to work.

WickedEmoji · 21/09/2020 12:30

72 hours almost to the minute! Negative Smile

WhatDoIDooDIoDtahW · 21/09/2020 14:25

Had my test Thursday afternoon 4pm at Swansea. Still waiting for my results, my other half is off work because of it and could be off for no reason. We really can’t afford for him to be off.

I’ve rang 119 who gave me the number for public health board in Wales who gave me the number for some form of welsh hospital. None of which could help me.

I am seething, travelled 1.5 hours to get a test done to not have any results 4 days on..

whataballbag · 21/09/2020 14:29

@snackcurator they don't. We all got tested last week same day and time. Everyone else got results tues morning. I got them Thursday night!

BillyAndTheSillies · 21/09/2020 14:42

Neighbour and her DD (3) were tested last Tuesday. Neighbour got her results on Saturday but nothing for her DD. She's been told if no results today then they've been lost.

Her DD's nursery have told her they won't take her back without a negative test or wait out the full 14 days. I'm fuming on her behalf, I know these things happen but it seems to be parents bearing the brunt of WFH while looking after isolating children and having to pay for childcare that can't be accessed. The winter is going to be a shit show.

Thanks for letting me know. That's rubbish!

GrumpySausage · 21/09/2020 15:33

I had my DD tested on Saturday at 12.30pm- still waiting so 51 hours now. Really hope they come before tomorrow so my DS can go back to school but also so I can attend my Nans remembrance service.

@PheasantPlucker1 I've read that the results can come in overnight. I kept checking my phone last night just in case!

allinvain · 21/09/2020 16:53

Hope you hear back @GrumpySausage so you can attend tomorrow

allinvain · 21/09/2020 16:54

Any luck @WhatDoIDooDIoDtahW ?

WhatDoIDooDIoDtahW · 21/09/2020 17:00

@allinvain Nope, nothing! So frustrating I’ve reach the end of the line with who I can contact. I’m starting to run low on DD formula too, parents live the closest but are away, friends don’t live particularly close so I know I’m going to be that pain in the arse friend that’s going to ask if somebody can grab us some and leave it on the doorstep Sad

allinvain · 21/09/2020 17:42

I'm sure no one will mind, I would quite happily drop off formula to anyone that needed it.
Getting so frustrated with checking my phone every 5 minutes for an email.

WhatDoIDooDIoDtahW · 21/09/2020 17:54

@allinvain every bing on my phone just makes me angrier🤦🏼‍♀️

shelikesemwithamoustache · 21/09/2020 19:04

Just had mine back, so about 60 hours. Negative thankfully.

GrumpySausage · 21/09/2020 19:36

Thanks @allinvain.

I keep seeing people getting there's at certain points and counting down until I get to that point. So 60 hours is my new aim, only 5 more to go! 🤞

Fannybawz · 22/09/2020 05:27

Well I’m in Liverpool and just got my son’s results now ... negative

So that was 90 hours, email first

Hope that helps anybody who is fretting... im off to celebrate my children’s return to school with a big coffee!!

GrumpySausage · 22/09/2020 06:57

Still nothing for us. 66 hours so far. Unless I receive them before 9.30 I won't be able to go to my Nans rememberance service.

Another day off school for my DS and a day off nursery for my dd. Her cough has virtually gone now.

I know the government website says 72 hours but a friend got hers within 24 hours the other day so I'd pinned my hopes on that

Fingers crossed they come in early this morning so you can go. How stressful for you.

Still waiting here too. Also 66 hours and counting...

BlueGreyGreens · 22/09/2020 07:26

Fingers crossed @GrumpySausage.

Up to 40 hours here so far and not feeling optimistic 😔

GrumpySausage · 22/09/2020 07:40

Spoke to 119, had to queue for 15 minutes but the chap was really helpful. He checked that the test had been registered correctly which it had. But he said they cannot escalate anything until 72 hours. He did say to ring at exactly 72 hours though and they can escalate it but it will still be just a case of waiting.

I'm pleased he was able to confirm it had been registered correctly because it was so stressful trying to do the test on my 2 year old, I started to panic that I'd not put the right bits in the bag etc.

So just got to sit tight.

psychomath · 22/09/2020 07:54

@Scantilydoesit

I have to say it was very easy for me to book the test (Newport s.wales). There were plenty of appointments a mile away. there were a few cars in front and behind us but certainly not packed.
That was my experience in the north of England, but a colleague who lives about 15 miles away got symptoms the day after I did and couldn't book a test for two days. She's been waiting longer for her results as well. So I think it must be almost entirely down to luck.
GrumpySausage · 22/09/2020 08:38

They've arrived! Just after 8am this morning. So son off to school, daughter already at nursery and I'm off to the service.

67 hours in total.

I hope others waiting get there's soon xx

GrumpySausage · 22/09/2020 08:39

Oh and of course they were negative 😁
