Still no results...!

DD2 has a cough on Tuesday/Wednesday (with a cold... no temperature). Ordered home test and posted it back Wednesday afternoon- tracking shows it was received at testing lab at 8am on Thursday. Was hoping for results this morning but still nothing - anyone with first hand of timeframes for home tests being returned at the moment?

We have a dinner arranged tonight with two friends I haven't seen in a long time and really didn't want to cancel seeing as DD hasn't coughed once since Wednesday afternoon! DD1 (12) is itching to go into town with her friends and is being pretty vile in the meantime... the worst part of isolation!

@RMarieClaire - yes postal. Definitely registered. May need to chase I think

RMarieClaire · 20/09/2020 19:14

@allinvain - same timeline as you. Test a bit later. Work have been quite patient with me but it won't last for ever. I've missed 4 days in past 2 weeks and facing 8 more if we don't hear back. Not to mention losing literally hundreds of pounds on childcare. This system is just not working at all.

Scantilydoesit · 20/09/2020 19:18

RMarie - We are in Newport, South Wales. Really easy to get a test too.

Scantilydoesit · 20/09/2020 19:20

Fingers crossed yours are back soon. I think we might have to get used to this. It must be very frustrating and worrying for you at work though. I'm very lucky as I work from home but was worried I'd have to cancel my scan at hospital tomorrow which I'd waited months for.

RMarieClaire · 20/09/2020 19:21

Ah that's no surprise @Scantilydoesit Newport came up as an option for us several times - we're in Surrey! Thankfully both tests we've done we've been able to get Gatwick.

Scantilydoesit · 20/09/2020 19:24

Really?! Interesting as it's a bit of a hotspot at the moment being close to Caerphilly and Rhonda. Maybe they have a different system in Wales?

WickedEmoji · 20/09/2020 19:24

Ds had a test Friday. No results yet. I need to get back to.work!!

Crunchymum · 20/09/2020 19:34

Well our test is still languishing in the hallway. We managed to secure a courier (for today, as it's day 5) due to length of time it took to get the test and lack of post over the weekend.

Courier hasn't turned up. So now we have a SI for another 10 days.

Not happy at all.

allinvain · 20/09/2020 19:35

@RMarieClaire I'm also in Surrey managed to get a test in Reigate at the pop up testing site. I'm dreading if this is going to be a monthly thing with my DC picking bugs up from nursery regularly.

PheasantPlucker1 · 20/09/2020 20:06

Just got my negative, around 30hrs from test to result so not too bad!

Just praying no one else in the family gets sent home with this cold now

Fannybawz · 20/09/2020 20:15

Anybody in the north west? We did a test on Friday...they warned us it could take 5 days... I am so hoping they’re wrong.

RMarieClaire · 20/09/2020 21:34

Any sign for you @allinvain - nothing here. I'm at my wit's end. Friend had a test in Guildford and got results in under a day late last week. How can there be so many different experiences in the same area?

allinvain · 20/09/2020 22:01

@RMarieClaire no nothing at all. The annoying thing is the cough only lasted a day and was the result of a cold but nursery won't have her back till a negative test. I can understand the rules but it seems such a waste of time and resources just for a cold.

littlestpogo · 20/09/2020 22:10

I still don’t have results (over 92 hours now). Rang the helpline to chase and it isn’t taking calls - just get a recorded message saying can’t chase tests at the moment isolate for 10 days from onset of symptoms Sad

RMarieClaire · 20/09/2020 22:20

@allinvain same here. DD had a temperature because she's got tonsillitis - and we literally had a CV19 test when she first had a fever just over a week ago. But no negative result, no nursery.

Praying we both wake up to what we need!

jillandhersprite · 20/09/2020 22:26

I posted a test on Friday morning - to a Scottish lab address. Received results 8.30pm Sunday - if my maths is right - about 56 hours.
Hope that helps folks wondering how long its taking...

Lougle · 20/09/2020 22:31

DD2 was tested via postal test - results took 50 hours from being received at the lab (66 hours from posting).

DD3 was tested at Guildford - 21 hours from test to result.

DD1 has just been tested at Porstmouth...4 hours so far.

justasyouare · 21/09/2020 06:55

De tested at drive through centre on Friday at midday.... still no results!

allinvain · 21/09/2020 08:22

Still nothing here, 4th day off work.

RMarieClaire · 21/09/2020 09:15

@allinvain we got our negative just before 7am this morning. I'm so sorry you're still waiting! I hope it comes this morning. Insane that it's been nearly 72 hours

littlestpogo · 21/09/2020 10:07

To give others hope I’ve just got my negative result through! Posted on Wednesday.

BlueGreyGreens · 21/09/2020 10:25

I'm joining the waiters, although it's been less than 24 hours after our tests so not expecting anything back imminently.

shelikesemwithamoustache · 21/09/2020 10:37

We had a test early Sat morning at a drive through, no results yet, so 50 + hours now. Have had to keep all the kids off school today.

snackcurator · 21/09/2020 10:44

We're approaching 48 hours here. Got tested Saturday afternoon at a drive through site and we're still waiting. Not sure if more than one family member has been tested if the results come back around the same time.

WickedEmoji · 21/09/2020 11:19

71 hours and counting.
