Live in north Lancashire and none that I’m aware of

Lumene · 17/09/2020 19:31

One primary school I’m aware of.

HairyFloppins · 17/09/2020 19:35

About four in my city and 24 in the county this is Staffs. This includes my dds school. They had one positive so far in year 7.

DonaldTrumpsChopper · 17/09/2020 19:37

One very local primary, and my Dc's secondary, although only one bubble in each school.

Local hospital only has two cases at the moment (large hospital, overwhelmied in April).

Thingybob · 17/09/2020 19:42

I have four relatives/friends working in different local schools, which is a small rural area surrounded by villages. Two have confirmed cases, teacher(s) and pupils and the other two have teachers dropping like flies awaiting test results.

Crunchymum · 17/09/2020 19:57

How do you find out?

I mean I assume I'd know about my own school but how would I know about others?

SoManyActivities · 17/09/2020 19:59

Are the cases in schools mostly staff or kids?

Mippi · 17/09/2020 20:00

3 out of 6 primary schools in my town (that I know of!).

Frazzled2207 · 17/09/2020 20:00

Over 130
In greater Manchester
There is no official way of finding out but local media are in it

motherrunner · 17/09/2020 20:02

14 in my city, including the school I teach at.

motherrunner · 17/09/2020 20:02

@Crunchymum It’s reported weekly in my local news.

Roomba · 17/09/2020 20:04

Also in North Lancashire and I know that both schools my two children attend are affected!
Haybo26 · 17/09/2020 20:05

6 in my county - Wales

Useruseruserusee · 17/09/2020 20:06

Small London boroughs - 5 schools that I know of. But it’s one of the boroughs were cases are rising. None yet at the school I teach in.

Gobacktothe90s · 17/09/2020 20:07

Tameside area and pretty much every school has a case

Frazzled2207 · 17/09/2020 20:07

Ooh updated
164 in greater Manchester Confused

ohthegoats · 17/09/2020 20:08

1 in my city, primary bubble.

97% of test results in the city are negative

Frazzled2207 · 17/09/2020 20:10

As far as I can make out most of the cases round here are singular, presumably they caught it from an adult.
Also some small staff outbreaks.
Not yet heard about confirmed transmission between children at school but i suppose it’s only a matter of time.
I really hope someone somewhere is keeping a proper record but then again this government is inept isn’t it

The majority of children are asymptomatic or have very mild symptoms/not the typical adult symptoms, so it is impossible to track transmission unless the whole class is tested.
Frazzled2207 · 17/09/2020 20:24

@Mippi
I get that but if a child catches it where the only known connection is another child in the same class, then at least that will be a definite case of it having spread in a school.

Mippi · 17/09/2020 20:25

So even say in a class of 30, maybe 6 could have covid but 2 of them have no symptoms at all, 1 is just extra tired, 2 have a headache and sore throat, one has a headache, sore throat and a slight fever - he's the only one who gets tested so it looks like a singular case that has come from nowhere.

FatGirlShrinking · 17/09/2020 20:28

About 50 last I heard, but that's probably increased over the last couple of days.
