I think as others have said , being outdoors helps , particularly if you are able to get to countryside or coastal area . We actually live a long way from the coast and it was something I missed during actual lockdown but have managed a couple of short breaks and have a week away soon.

I'm planning to decorate the spare room into a den for myself with a coastal theme , some nice pictures and fairy lights .

I love your user name @NewStart2020MyArse but I'm sorry you are struggling so much . Are there any ideas people have suggested here which may be helpful to you ? Have you got family or friends who are able to help you in real life ?

@shinynewapple2020 thank you. No friends really and mentally unstable mother. My garden is the only thing that keeps me going. I'm dreading winter.😱

@NewStart2020MyArse I’m sorry to hear you are struggling, I’m dreading winter as per my OP and I don’t gave any family here in the UK and haven’t been successful in making any friends either...

I do understand how you feel and in some senses I started this thread with this in mind...so we can learn off each other..do you like painting/colouring? I’ve found during this pandemic that I feel calmer when I draw..so I doodle in my notebook when I’m feeling anxious. Worth a try...

When we were in full lockdown March / April there was a positive mental health thread running , I think it reached a couple of full threads , basically it was people saying the little things they were doing to help themselves and supporting each other . It would be good to resurrect that as we head into the cooler months and it's harder for people to spend time outside .

@shinynewapple2020 That thread helped so much! I was looking to see if it had been updated, the other day.

mentally unstable mother
a pandemic is a great time to fully distance yourself from the dysfunctional people in your lifeWink
