How did you / your child get tested?

I tried the website to book a test but it wasn’t coming up with anything. Just wondering how you managed to book your test? X

Tiny - are you on the genuine site? There’s nothing about credit ratings on the government questions

I refreshed every 5 minutes or so from about 8am this morning and finally got a slot (at a walk-in miles from home, will have to park nearby and walk) at about 10.30am. Just keep refreshing and toggle between drive through and walk-in each time. A drive through location came up at the same time but it was 2 hrs drive away and there were no slots for the next 7 days. The walk-in had slots for 5pm today when it finally came up. Keep refreshing...

There may be something in the the credit score thing. It seems an outside company was contracted to harvest data verify identities from credit score files.

I was on the gov.Wales one. It is too late now; he has to isolate until a week Monday. He has a terrible cold so it may only be that. He is a vulnerable adult living on his own too.

Anyone who’s had a test - how long did your results take? I had one at 4pm on Wednesday but still not had a result. I’ve already missed 4 days off work and I can’t go back until I get a negative (obviously!)

I had to agree for transunion to verify identity on my form as well, and it was the official gov form. Also, didn’t realise the home tests came from
Amazon. Scary Mary - who knows where my info is right now!

Firenze - hope you get your results soon. There seems to be a delay at the moment. Me thinks they aren’t properly prepared for the winter season!

Weekends are apparently quieter, I booked one last Saturday morning about 9ish, had been trying all day Friday and middle of the night when I had insomnia. It was a mobile test site so was added last minute, was an hours drive each way but meant ds could start school with his friends on the Tuesday.

Results were back Sunday so just under 24hrs.

Well I've been waiting 43 hours so far....drive-in test 😠

@Thirtyrock39 we had a test in East Mids on Wed midday, got the test results early evening yesterday so 55 hours.

It was a nightmare to try and book one for my son who had a cough. No tests slots available at any local location even though it said there were, but when you went through to the final page to book the slot it then said there were no slots. Offered Aberdeen (we're in the east Midlands). Spent an hour on hold to 119 to then be told none available, keep trying. In the end husband and son drove to the main local testing site to be turned away as we had no app. Went to the site of an advertised pop up nearby, no pop up there. Eventually after half a day of refreshing the website one came up at the pop up site so managed to go back there, it had then been set up. After 36 hours started chasing the test result on 119 to hear a recorded message to say unless it's been 7 days then don't call.

If this is what it's like in the first week of schools being back I dread to think how the rest of winter will be. But still the Gov are banging on and on about how capacity has never been higher... It's still obviously not high enough. 😡
