If you wear your mask under your nose...

WHY??

Don't you realise the same air comes out, and you might as well not bother.
Just been shopping and the amount of masks under noses is unbelievable. I just don't get it!? If I see someone with no mask at all I assume they can't wear one for some reason. But under the nose?? I'm desperate to just ask someone but don't want to risk getting punched in the face 😬

Can anyone shed some light on this? Do they not know that it's the same air coming out as their mouth air?

@Noextremes2017

Surely no one wears one except where they absolutely have to - just to comply with these clowns we have running the country.

Or do people still exist who think they are more than Government propaganda?

I have read the science and I wear mine as a courtesy to others as well as to protect myself.

Because I'm a responsible citizen.

I agree that clowns are running the country, but I also think that wearing a face covering is one important small thing we can all do to help limit the spread of the virus.

Now I finally found one I can tolerate, it kind of..just slips under my nose quite often..no bloody idea why. I do pull it back up but I guess if seen in the spilt few seconds I look like a bit of a twat.

Have seen loads wearing them like this though. DSS has been sometimes, says its because masks make him feel faint sometimes and its best to stick his nose out for 5 mins than take it off completely..also glasses seem common in those wearing them under nose, as a glasses wearer I kind of get that..have been having my vision go in and out of view for a while now so am used to it, but was weird to start with!

@Namechangr9000

I see a lot of people on the train with masks hanging off their ears, under their chin, or on the seat next to them. I assume (rightly or wrongly) that they have them simply to put on in case anyone "official" challenged them?
^This

As a member of staff on public transport, every time I enter the passenger areas everyone hastily pulls theirs up from their chin. When a train arrives on a platform and a police officer happens to be present, suddenly even the ones who hadn't been wearing one at all. None of them so far have passed out through lack of oxygen, had panic attacks or come out in a rash so they plainly had no medical condition preventing them doing so (obviously I'm not referring to those with genuine conditions, most of whom identify themselves with lanyards anyway).

@bigmamama

Let the lynching begin?

Seriously? Anyone who trivialises the word 'lynching' in such a way on a forum where a perfectly good natured discussion is taking place clearly isn't worth the effort.

Enjoy your holiday.

@BatShite

Totally understand when it's just slipped for a minute or someone feels poorly.

I usually have to pull it down from my nose for a minute at least once on tube journeys, although seem to be OK in most shops. It’s the heat and lack of air. I feel like I’m going to pass out if I don’t breathe some ‘fresh’ air for 30 seconds. I feel guilty doing it, but what’s the alternative?

bigmamama · 23/08/2020 18:40

For daring to be on holiday to not want to wear a mask for not seeing the point.
Holiday is amazing thank you

I have bought myself a little fan. That has really helped this menopausal women out when wearing a mask now. Tried it for the first time today. It really helped with the overheating. Now if I can get it to stop fogging my glasses up or my glasses pushing it down. I’m there.

A new level of ridiculous has been reached. Today on the bus was a man wearing a mask BETWEEN his nose and mouth. Like a moustache. Covering neither 😂
