Booked flights to Spain

Booked 6 flights to Spain, leaving tomorrow. This was when you could travel.

It's via Ryanair and the advice is to now not travel. Can I get a refund. Or not even bother contesting it?

Battleface must be doing a killing I keep seeing them being recommended on here at the moment.

Fairenuff · 04/08/2020 19:39

@BridgettJ

£50 a flight change, each way!!

Does anyone know where I can get insurance that covers me?

You probably won't get cover for covid. Can you afford the medical expenses if you are hospitalised?
Piggywaspushed · 04/08/2020 19:40

Have you checked the hotel/villa?

BridgettJ · 04/08/2020 19:45

Yeah hotel still going - all fine!

Battleface covers for COVID but excludes any trip cancellation or curtailment. They couldn’t have been more helpful. They normally provide insurance to war zones !!!

BridgettJ · 04/08/2020 19:45

I thought Battleface insures you against FCO travel?

And yes, I could. @Fairenuff

Ryanair were only changing flights for free booked in recent months I believe. We had flights to Portugal with them a few weeks ago and as we booked in January, we couldn't change for free. We actually ended up going and a had a wonderful time. As long as you can quarantine and follow the rules once there, go and enjoy your holiday.

Fairenuff · 04/08/2020 19:48

That's good Bridgett. This was the main reason that my ds couldn't visit the US. No way could he afford to pay his own medical bills if he was unfortunate enough to need intensive care for several days!

Lazypuppy · 04/08/2020 19:49

I'd go and just quarantine when i got back.

You're probably just as likely to catch it in spain as you are here 🤷‍♀️

Noextremes2017 · 04/08/2020 19:57

Personally I would go.

Noextremes2017 · 04/08/2020 19:59

More to the point. You are as UNlikely to catch it in Spain as the UK if you act sensibly and reasonably.

ScorpioSphinxInACalicoDress · 04/08/2020 20:14

Yes, I think that's right usernotfound- mine was booked beg of July only.

BridgettJ · 04/08/2020 20:16

I'm scared 🤣. But think I'll go for it! I hate breaking the rules!!!

Battleface will cover you if you catch COVID and anything else accident wise etc. They won't cover if you choose to cancel the trip or if it were curtailed If you are are going tomorrow (similar to us when trying to sort our decision making ) then this isn't really an issue

Bathroom12345 · 04/08/2020 20:44

I believe they cover Covid but not cancellation as it’s a known risk. Do you think they will withdraw as it’s a good option for those of us who have non cancelable accommodation. I have normal insurance but it doesn’t cover Covid
