When is your school going back in September?

We've had info from school which has said the school won't be open until 14th September at the earliest and no further info.

When is everyone else going back? This is later than I had anticipated and I'm not 100% that they'll be back on that date either!

2nd for staff
3rd for pupils
EYFS start back on a staggered basis from the 7th.

No wraparound care or clubs though.

6th Form on Fri 4th to collect timetable & info / assembly. Then starting Mon 7th lessons

Almost on normal dates.

So term shoudl have started on Thurs 3rd, and they have half the school in on 3rd, and the other half in on Fri 4th and then everyone from Monday, so they are only missing one day.

I am pretty irritated with schools who are taking an extra week to set up for covid. Really? get your act together and get on with it.

Thursday 3rd as originally planned.

Staff in Tue 1st, Wed 2nd for Y7s (a day earlier than term was meant to start), Thur 3rd is Y7s plus Y12s who are new to the school, then everyone on Fri 4th.

Our Head said couldn't be any later than that because of the regulation which says that every school must provide ?195 days a year. As it was the governors had to agree the missing day for most of the school on the Thursday. So I guess that's what happened at yr school OP, but for more days?

03 Sept, normal start of year date for our school. I'd have been frustrated if it hadn't been.

DS goes back on 2nd September but will be in on alternate weeks with online teaching the other week. From October they hope to have everyone in full time. This is a state 6th form college.

DD1 y10 special school - 7th September. No real details yet, but rough sketch that they will stay in 'their' classroom, teachers will go to them, and they'll have coloured sashes to indicate which bubble they are in. Transport an issue - the LA have asked us all to consider being contractors for our children at £1000 per term for the Autumn term (10 miles journey each way).

DD2 y9 - 7th September. No staggered starts. Home zones for each year group.

DD3 y7 -4th September. ditto above.

Year 8 and year 9 on 7th September. My eldest at college on 1st.

At the secondary I work at, staff are in on the 1st Sept for INSET and all pupils in all years are in on the 2nd. They are not staggering the start as it would be too difficult with buses. Each year group has a designated entrance and a space to wait until form time. Luckily, we have a large building/site. Dates are the same as they would have been pre-covid.

DS primary school go back on the 2nd, all years. Staggered start but only over 20 mins. Each class has its own entrance anyway.

Can't understand the school doing blended learning until 4th Oct

26th August, in Leicester and still in lockdown. At this rate we won't be able to do anything with DD before she goes back other than walks in the park. Really wish they would extend our summer holidays till a week later to make the sure turn date the same as the rest of the country.

School reopens on 7th September however that week only one year group per day to understand the new social distancing rules. Other days work is being set on Show My Homework. Following week, mixed year groups in for 3 days with 2 days at home or year 8&9 go in Mon/wed/Fri. Third week all back daily with staggered start and finish time. My DS is 9-3, others are either 8.45-2.45 or 9.15-3.15.

Secondary Wednesday 2nd Primary Friday 4th.
