Can we expect wrap around care at school from September?

My DC’s primary hasn’t offered it yet but I’m wondering whether they will? Anyone else’s primary school given any advice as to whether it will be available? Going to make work tricky without it!

Mine have been in contact and they are opening before and after school club but not for KS1, which DD will be in, which is not helpful for us!

Waxonwaxoff0 · 09/07/2020 13:44

Our school is doing it and taking bookings from next week.

Cupcakegirl13 · 09/07/2020 13:45

Ours is offering it as usual , the guidance explicitly says bubbles do not apply in that instance so there’s no reason it can’t go ahead as usual .

Idontgiveagriffindamn · 09/07/2020 13:45

Our primary school is planning on opening wrap around care.

LadyPrigsbottom · 09/07/2020 14:02

Our school is offering it from September, to all ages afaik. My 5yo will be going some days.

twiglet123 · 09/07/2020 15:05

Good to know - thank you. Might send an email to school saying I’m expecting it!

Yes they have said wrap around care fine to go ahead in September.

Qasd · 09/07/2020 15:11

Ours is but reducing numbers, it was already heavily over subscribed so I think any reduction in numbers will be difficult.

IcedBlueNails · 09/07/2020 15:14

Ours have said they are not running, so the school is offering supervision from eight am to try and help out.

Nquartz · 09/07/2020 15:18

We got a call yesterday asking if our days will be the same, they said they're 'hoping' to open so fingers crossed they can!

lucysmam · 09/07/2020 15:36

Ours haven't said yet.

Which is not at all helpful - I cook breakfast at dd2's school & she attends so I can be in the kitchen Confused

I'm hoping to know wtf is going on before the end of next week 🤷‍♀️

Tallace · 09/07/2020 15:38

Ours have said it will be running from September.

Kitcat122 · 09/07/2020 16:02

Ours isn't offering it as children need to stay in their bubbles.

Expectation? No, I dont think so.
Probably available by October for most places? Yes.

HowLongWillThisGoOnFor · 11/07/2020 16:35

Ours has stopped running and I rely on it. No childminders locally, no family support.

somewomenneedaslap · 11/07/2020 16:38

My school is offering wrap around care from September.

Letseatgrandma · 11/07/2020 16:38

No-it isn’t running at my school.

The TAs who ran it previously have all being shielding and have resigned rather than chosen to return to work.

We have advertised but nobody has applied. Nobody working at the school already wants to do it, so we won’t be opening.

concernedforthefuture · 11/07/2020 16:42

I bloody well hope so! I really can't have any more time off work. After a shite load of parental / unpaid leave (my kids haven't been able to return to school at all since mid-March), my job is hanging in the balance Sad

SpnBaby1967 · 11/07/2020 17:25

Our school is running wrap around care as per usual from the summer holidays.

ladygracie · 11/07/2020 17:29

My new school isn’t running before and after school club because the room they use is not available. I think they are trying to find a solution though.

NickMarlow · 11/07/2020 17:30

Ours arent to start with but say they will restart it as soon as they can. They've not been able to get R/y1 back this term, just y6 and keyworker children, so they're focusing on getting everyone in for the normal school day first.

camperjam · 11/07/2020 18:29

My school won't be and they will be reducing the day to 9-3 which will make work tricky for me

winterisstillcoming · 11/07/2020 19:32

Ours is, and has enough staff to keep children in their bubbles

didireallysaythat · 11/07/2020 19:41

I'm hoping the company that runs ours is still financially viable come September....
