What little thing is getting you through this?

Little things matter at a time when nothing is normal. What little thing brightens your day and is getting you through this?

Maybe your 'little thing' will be a fantastic new idea for someone else and we can all be cheered up a bit.

@RedLipsAndRosyCheeks oohh!! I love meeting another Sturdy Girl! I have a pair of Locket shorts which are lovely, but IME their leggings just aren't squat proof like Sturdies - I sent a lovely pair back last week because they just turned white. I also have one pair of Tikis which are excellent too, but once you pick a side, you don't often buy from the others!

LuluJakey1 · 12/06/2020 19:01

Walking, running and ice lollies.

Furrybootsyecomfy · 12/06/2020 19:01

Work- I’m a nurse and even though it’s been a bit scary at times (we’ve never been busy, which is disquieting in itself), the sense of camaraderie is amazing. I hope we take it with us.
NT Live, when I’ve got the attention span. Looking forward to watching The Madness Of King George the Third in my jammies this week.
The weekly pub quiz a group of us have established and takes turns doing. It makes me feel like “the weekend” is here.
Also spicing up my weekends with a pastry or some take- home cocktails from local small businesses.
The Great British Singalong on BBC radio. I teared up
during the final one this week. Why can’t they keep it going??

More cake than is sensible for any person to eat.

ShouldWeChangeTheBulb · 12/06/2020 19:01

Friday night cocktails and pub quiz. Obviously never leave the house but it feels like it breaks the week up.

devildeepbluesea · 12/06/2020 19:02

@RedLipsAndRosyCheeks so what designs do you have?!

I've bought so many during lockdown, my collection has grown from 2 pairs to about 11...

LuluJakey1 · 12/06/2020 19:02

And Sewing Bee.

Lunaballoon · 12/06/2020 19:02

Fabulous spring weather, small new routines like daily walks or runs. Lots of time to potter in the garden, wfm.

BackInTime · 12/06/2020 19:07

Having more time to plan and cook meals and bake
Wine
My garden
Walks
DCs being home more and enjoying their company, even if they are messy and eat non stop

elQuintoConyo · 12/06/2020 19:11

I finish work Monday for two weeks, and DS' schoolwork projects have a 19th June deadline, so I'm looking forward to enjoying his company with absolutely no home/schooling bollocks in the background.

I live next to the beach so we'll be down there every day, either to swim, build sandcastles or to walk the dog.

I0ve just finished making a bunch of facemasks for friends and family, after making 200 for various charities, I'm exhausted. (sorry, not very stealthy boast, but by god i'll be glad to get them out of my house and have my dining table back!).

I'm very happy our restrictions have been lifted so we can travel around our area of about 50 square miles. Perhaps not a lot, but we have lots of lovely mountainous walks and picnics to enjoy with the dog! Poor puppy has been so bored with short walks on the lead twice a day for three months.

KaronAVyrus · 12/06/2020 19:13

My garden
Spring watch
And at the beginning of this- Tiger King and all the memes

WellTidy · 12/06/2020 19:15

Not having to go out and socialise! I am quite introverted and staying at home has been absolutely fine for me.

Predictability. So knowing what time to serve dinner (as DH is working from home) and being able to meal plan and therefore having less waste and spending less on food despite us eating every meal at home

Candles. I love the scented ones I have (mostly fig or rose scented) and burn one most mornings

Having baths - even though Ds is usually playing on the bathroom floor next to me

Reading my book in the garden

No commute, so no rush in the mornings

WellTidy · 12/06/2020 19:16

And Queer Eye season 5 over the last few days

Abelard40 · 12/06/2020 19:17

Normal People - the book and series

Samtsirch · 12/06/2020 19:18

@breadfortea
That’s a clever Kingfisher 😉 😆
I love to see the buzzards walking the dog 😁😆

dogsdinnerlady · 12/06/2020 19:20

Nothing 'little' just frequent large transfusions of NZ Sauvignon. Or Pinot Noir. Maybe Shiraz.

Kittio · 12/06/2020 19:21

Saturday Kitchen, in particular the videos of chefs, some of whom are seeing food being cooked overseas.
Gardeners World, especially the videos.
Drinking tea and coffee.
My teenage dds can be fun and funny.
Watched the Detectorists for the first time. Lovely!

Kittio · 12/06/2020 19:24

Oh and Inside the Factory. The Le Creuset factory episode and crisps episode

DuckonaBike · 12/06/2020 19:24

Wine.

DD1 made a “Happy Jar” where we all write things we have enjoyed or are grateful for on slips of paper and put them in. This is nice but to be honest wine is better.

TheSimpleThings17 · 12/06/2020 19:29

The (very expensive) garden room we had installed in 2018 and had hardly used...it has now become a gym/office/classroom/zooming space/bar/chill out room/somewhere you can lock the door and scream when it’s all just getting TOO much!

BatleyTownswomensGuild · 12/06/2020 19:30

DH bought me a hammock for the garden. Every time I feel fed up I go outside put on some chill music and lie in my hammock and listen to the birds.

TumbledGlass · 12/06/2020 19:32

Ruby Magnums
DH baking cakes every week
Colouring in

dogsdinnerlady · 12/06/2020 19:34

Dreaming up solutions for the bubble issue.

What little thing is getting you through this?
Bramblebear92 · 12/06/2020 19:36

The sun when it comes out (the star, not the newspaper.)
Wine/gin... lots of it
Britbox and BBC iplayer

fruitpastille · 12/06/2020 19:38

My dog
My gym membership which means I do 3 live online classes a week that I have to prebook.

Both of these get me up and at 'em early in the morning and thus reduces wine consumption.

RedLipsAndRosyCheeks · 12/06/2020 19:40

@devildeepbluesea
First pic is capris
Second is long length (I love the winter ones!)
Third is my LLL because I love them!

Pattern overload with my duvet cover though.

I agree that LLL as not as squat proof but I only really run or Zumba in mine so it's less of a problem.

I'm envious of your 11pairs, show me! I think I need more ....
