It seems to be middle aged overweight men that have the most problem, or the rudeness to say something /point and laugh. Is that because they know they are more at risk so seeing me masked up makes them uncomfortable?
I wear it in any enclosed space including cars as I have to drive other peoples cars for work. I know the studies are limited but there does seem consensus that it will at least stop me spreading it if I'm asymptomatic.
Just going to a car and a man said 'why a you fucking wearing that' and laughed at me. Why?

Went to the supermarket (reluctantly, once a week) in my mask. Favourite comment from another shopper, loudly to her partner, "They look like them things they put on dogs... not leads... muzzles!

Adapt it to look like a Hannibal lecter style mask!

They pretty much laughed at her and said "we don't care, we've got our masks on". SHe was outraged and said "maybe, but I don't, and I've been in school all day with children.

Why wasn't she wearing one ?

Do you have a mask shortage in the country? I'm surprised to hear that mask wearing isn't being done properly in UK because it's mandatory in the country that I'm in at the moment (Singapore). Good luck and stay safe because it sounds like a second wave is only going to be coming...

Snagscardies · 07/06/2020 09:38

@pinksupervisor does everyone wear a mask in Singapore? There is a long thread on my fb page where people are listing reasons why they are the exception and won't be wearing them.

Re “wearing a mask in a car”, I don’t take my mask off when driving because I want to minimise how often I touch my face whilst I’m out and about and unable to wash my hands.

This. The supermarket I shop in is five minutes drive down the road. I prefer to fit my cotton mask at home, just after washing my hands then wear it for the duration of the shopping trip including driving there and back.

I have been smirked at and photographed by women in their early twenties for wearing a mask in shops.

Just horrible - why are people so concerned with what other people are wearing? weird.

So many people are wearing masks, I don't understand why anyone would notice yours?
Just ignore them.
I wear headphones when I'm out and about and not in the mood for the general public, works a treat, especially if I wear my sunglasses too!

I think it depends where you are. I'm in the NE, in an area that has had very few cases. I've only seen a few people in masks (mainly HCP in the community).
