Are you still food shopping as infrequently as possible?

Just wondering really who is still keeping away from supermarkets?

I was going strictly only once a week and making dinner with whatever I had in. But before lockdown I'd go 2-3 times a week to top up.

I used to go almost daily. Now we get a fortnightly collection or delivery and my DH does a small top up in between.

We aim for a weekly supermarket shop to last us all week.

Some weeks we manage it. Others someone needs to pop out to the small local convenience store for bread/milk (and will get anything else we fancy seeing as they're there).

I go whenever I want to buy something regardless of how often it is or what the item is.

I have managed to get a delivery most weeks, but not all. DD goes through fruit like its going out of fashion, and both DH and DD drink milk like they are baby calves. So I need to get extras during the week. But I am only going to a shop roughly once a week for those, and wearing a mask.

I'm picking my times, and if there is a long queue, I leave it until another time as I am still FT WFH, and so is DH, both doing very long days. DD has walked to the local butcher a couple of times for us (teen, and now finished school for summer holidays).

I do want to go in person to the large supermarket relatively near me in the next week or so, as many of my stores items are very depleted and seem to be unavailable a lot in deliveries or the smaller local shops. But at least that is open until 10pm, so I will go late one evening (that chain's smaller branch nearer home is quite quiet after 7.30pm generally so has been useful for topups, but doesn't have the range as it is much smaller - I am expecting the larger one would be similar).

I have a big weekly delivery, morrisons delivery is back to usual here, for a few weeks there were no slots at all.

I used to do a small top up shop midweek, but can manage without it.

I am but only because I cant be arsed to queue. We have a recurring weekly asda delivery and have got used to only having food delivered weekly so just sticking with that for now. I think it works out cheaper not popping to the shops for extra bits 3x a week.

We avoid going into any stores as much as possible. Businesses offering delivery or outdoor pickup are getting our money.
