Have any other countries reopened playgrounds?

Does anyone know if any other countries have reopened playgrounds as of yet? And have anything like playgroups restarted?

Not sure but I don’t think we will.
Disgusting the lack of provision for children, and before someone pipes up with surfaces!!... covid is a LOW risk to children. I don’t see why they cannot play in the park and adults socially distance.

Basically no one gives a shit about kids or teenagers!!

Australia, well SA for sure, I'm pretty sure most other states too have
Technically in our town they never really closed as such, they weren't roped off or fenced off so we could still go on if we wanted, only place I saw keep off tape was at the caravan parks playground.
Some city ones were roped or fenced off though

I hope they'll reopen soon, outdoors is lower risk as are children. It's up to adults to make sure they don't gather in big groups.

I’ve seen lots of children playing in my local playground (In England) even though they are supposed to be shut.

In my child’s school they can’t play on any equipment like the trim trail or tyres as it needs to be sanitised between each child touching it. They have been allowed plastic equipment to play with though like skipping ropes which is theirs for the whole playtime then sprayed after use.

Opening up playgrounds messes with the bubble concept in schools so adults may socially distance in parks but if children from different households and different bubbles don’t socially distance then it adds more contacts to the bubble.

Not saying it’s right to keep play parks shut but just trying to explain the thinking behind it. I think it’s far more risky with huge crowds flocking to the beaches. Feel sorry for the locals.

In Switzerland we reopened playgrounds around the same time as schools - May 11th.
Although I know the one near me had been open since Easter. There was a big container of sanitizer near the entry and parents were asked to wipe down equipment their children had been using. Most brought their own wipes and cleaned things before their children used them as well.

Turkey has, only 3 days a week though.

I believe we have in Malaysia. In the state I live in we haven't had a covid case for 4 weeks though.

How're things in Switzerland since the reopening of schools? It's somewhat difficult in the U.K. to find reliable news reporting of what's happening positively around the world. I've not heard anything so I am assuming it's working ok?!

As a keyworker my children have been at school throughout lockdown, however, I am keen for schools to reopen fully for their mental health and wellbeing if nothing else.

That sounds so sensible, I wish we could be more like Switzerland. I expect someone would just steal the sanitizer if it was left out in the UK.

Australian playgrounds are open. My DD is very happy. There's supposed to be limits on how many people are in them but that's definitely not happening.

In Germany, our parks/playgrounds have been open for a couple of weeks now.

🤞 hand sanitiser and maybe even a sign in sheet (take your own pen?!) to lock who has been there for track and trace?!

I suppose that's not really viable for local council owned playgrounds but would be for outside play parks run as a business

In denmark the playground never closed but not many kids went. Now it's frequently used. The classes at school are back to full size and whole school activities have resumed - yesterday the kids had a whole school water fight. the lessons are still all outside. Legoland will open this weekend too. I think all outdoor museums/outdoor entertainment will resume but no swimming pools. Lets hope the low infection rate lasts... particularly when autumn comes.

Plenty of kids on the playgrounds here even though they’re “shut”.

Must make it harder for the parents trying to follow the rules when nobody else is bothering.

Can I ask how many children there are to a primary class in Denmark? Also-they must have huge amounts of grounds for all lessons to be outside?

@epythymy The re-opening of schools has been going very well so far. The cantons were left to each decide how to handle it (as is usual here), and for mine they have full school days, full classes and no social distancing required for the children. The teachers are advised to maintain the 2m distance, and when they can't they should wear masks. There is also a lot of hand washing during the day (parents should provide hand cream now, as well as sun cream!).

There was a LOT of debate about this, with people saying that it was inadequate and they would keep their children at home, but in the end it's been fine. There has been no increase in cases, that has come down nationally - I think the figures for the past five days have been - new cases - 20, 19, 3, 9, 17 and new deaths - 0, 1, 0, 0. There have been 2 new cases in my canton in the past week - 2 siblings of school age - their classes were sent home for 14 days, but the school did not close - and there have been no other cases reported from their classmates, teachers or parents.

Testing is widely available and anyone who suspects they might have symptoms is encouraged to go and be tested.
Its probably still a bit early to know for sure, but it's promising.

In Ireland, playgrounds were supposed to open at the next phase 29th of June BUT it’s looking likely that they will re- open next week!! So excited!!

God it sounds like the UK is months behind everyone else. I hope that’s an exaggeration, but it was only a few weeks ago that they let us sit on park benches without the guilt that we are mass murdering people.

The class sizes are around 15-20 per class. They have a field plus a playground outside. They are taking lots of the children, maybe half, off the school ground each day. Walking around, doing surveys, I've seen some doing what looked like a maths lesson in a open patch of a forest. There is a scouts hut and camp gathering area near us and some go there each day, I imagine it's because there are large areas under cover and tables.

As far as I’ve heard in the Netherlands they never closed.
