Have any other countries reopened playgrounds?

Does anyone know if any other countries have reopened playgrounds as of yet? And have anything like playgroups restarted?

Western Australia still has playgrounds closed until this weekend, despite having zero community spread cases in 4+ weeks! They relaxed some measures a couple of weeks ago, I thought it was crazy playgrounds weren't included. Especially reading here that NSW has theirs open and they have far more cases.

It's lovely to hear that they have reopened in lots of other countries. Things like this just aren't reported on here and it's so important to so many of us. It gives me hope that they may reopen soon here 🙏🏻

it was only a few weeks ago that they let us sit on park benches without the guilt that we are mass murdering people

Yes we certainly seem to have gone from one extreme to another in some ways, firstly you couldn't buy "non-essential" items (for whatever reason) and then you couldn't sit on a park bench because the virus would crawl out your bottom and into the next person's to sit down and then you couldn't lie in the sunshine because of well I don't know.

Now you can sunbathe as much as you want and IKEA is open, but play parks are apparently the hotbed of risk.

In some ways we've been too lax and in others we're making everything loads more difficult than it should be eg reopening schools. Nobody else is making a meal of it like we are. They are either reopening with a clear plan or not reopening until after the summer.

Parks reopened here in France on Tuesday.

Japanese cities have opened playgrounds (they were only closed for about a month).

Parks here in Belgium never closed, though you had to maintain a 1.5m distance from anyone and weren't allowed to sit down (unless elderly/disabled/pregnant).

Playgrounds reopened this week. There are, I think, rules about the number of people who are supposed to go in at one time and adults are supposed to stay 1.5m away from each other, but I've not seen anyone enforcing any restrictions.

I've just seen that playgrounds are opening in Ireland from Monday. I really hope this happens here soon

They should open the playgrounds, kids parents should keep them handwashing or gelling. They are totally different to softplays, which some people on my social media feeds have weirdly compared them too.

Ritascornershop · 06/06/2020 15:56

My part of Canada they are opening next week. But then we now have zero confirmed cases in our health region.

runningon · 06/06/2020 15:56

When school open fully I guess?

ChippityDoDa · 06/06/2020 16:34

No one gives a fuck about kids in the UK at the moment. No education, no play, nowhere to go, despite them being the lowest risk of Covid. But it’s fine because adults can go on massive protests and go to Ikea shopping.
