How are people catching it?

Sorry if it’s a dumb question - currently off work sick with severe anxiety (which I had prior to this) please be kind to me.

If people are adhering to lockdown and only making essential journeys such as to get shopping how are so many people still catching this as ‘new cases’? Are they getting it from the supermarket? From their shopping being delivered? Or are these new cases the ones breaking lockdown?

I have developed agoraphobia and panic disorder so knowing where it’s being caught will help me a little bit.

SOME tests are a false negative, patients should be treated as suspected and quarantined / barrier nursed until they've had two negative tests ideally. In the community a negative test and an abscense of fever for over 48hrs enables you to go back to work, if you will have a fever you should remain in quarantine.

I think we do need to be very honest about the efficacy of our testing, many patients are receiving multiple tests. Testing is only possible before day 5 of symptoms, if you are asymptomatic that's a needle in a haystack.

So what do you do? With the bedside tests you can test all staff bi-weekly (if you have the time, money and access to them) and all patients on arrival. Cepheid launched a bedside test in America months ago with 98.2% accuracy. That returns a result in less than an hour. Why we haven't poured money into rapid, effective tests I do not know.

There has been a mini epidemic with Weston hospital. Can't remember the exact figure but they found loads of porters tested positive when asymptotic.

Care homes still have epidemics within their homes I think.

Then there is the people who aren't social distancing.

I've take the opinion if I do what's right to keep me safe I'm likely to be safe statistically.

Hi

Sorry to hear you are suffering anxiety I had 8 weeks off work with it last year hun

Heard this morning there is now a 1/1000 chance of catching it compared to 1/40 during the height.

So that's a good question how and where.
