This is outing so have NC.

Our school is a large primary 3 form per year.

They've offered alternate weeks starting from the 8th June for year groups.

We were undecided on sending our DC back.

However we got an email yesterday saying they were at full capacity for key worker and Nursery R, Y1 and Y6 and can't accept anymore children!

Is this allowed?

If 50% of the class is going back, they must have said yes. I don't think you are thick, but I think you are entitled. If the majority said yes and only 50% turn up, it's no big deal. But majority said no and they expected to be allowed to change their mind, I don't think that's reasonable at all. You must know that, don't you? I bet if your dc got a plce, you would have said "tough", to those who complained not getting place after saying no. I think you are the one need chilling and stop being stressed. If your child is as clever as you say they are, they are not missing much, education wise.

Well your birchinf about the school now not accommodating your child when you said no. What's changed your mind that you made the decision in the first place? Covid reasons?

Regardless the school shouldn't need to give you deadlines you were sent a questionnaire it's common sense with all the fuss over week and weeks about how will kids stay distances in schools, schools not being able to accommodate everyone, phasing of years. You would of had to not seen any news to remain ignorant.

Your a lawyer and your job is know all the details. The fact you completely missed this about school is really questionable.

The fact you come on here moaning and complaining how the school should allow your child in without just sucking up the fact you made the wrong choice.

Well our 3 form entry primary school has decided that they will only take key worker children until 22 June, then they might take some y6 if there is room. No plans to take any R or Y1 and no prospect at all of my two DCs (not in those priority years) returning this term. And have had a sum total of 1 hour of zoom classes in the past 10 weeks, no contact from the teacher at all and no marking done.
(And yes we answered yes to the questionnaire)
