what would you say you miss most about 'normal' times?
those small things perhaps, which we took for granted ....

aside from the obvious (seeing parents, not queuing, etc), what are the things you long to do again?

for me:
1/walking into a pub after a hike and being able to take a pee!
2/meeting people socially and randomly hugging them when saying goodbye.
3/planning and organising things at the drop of a hat: yoga class, bus ride to keswick on bored afternoon, driving lessons (i never learned to drive and promised myself i'd learn this year).
4/being able to moan about a cafe being too full!

My job.
I work as a Language teacher with foreign students from many countries.
Teaching in the morning- organised trips in the
afternoon and evenings.
Sadly I will be redundant as of Tuesday.🤢.
I work with a great bunch of people and really enjoy meeting all our students.
The bookings have completely nose dived and it's doubtful that the company will even survive.
Bloody coronavirus.

Getting on a bus
Planning trips - we go on a few citybreaks every summer/autumn rather than one big holiday. I've already cancelled two and haven't even bothered planning any more
Public toilets
Beer gardens, especially in this beautiful weather
Just popping to the shop, and walking straight in
Hands that didn't resemble old boot leather thanks to constant washing/sanitising
Waking up without a knot of anxiety in my stomach
Nipping to a different town for a wander, just because
Gigs. Oh I miss live music so much. I had a summer full of them ahead, all cancelled. Five since the start of lockdown

On the plus side, no commuting, saving a fortune every month, DH at home all the time because he's wfh too, and I've eaten a LOT of pasta. This is definitely a Good Thing.

Just popping to the shop/supermarket for frivolous crap - “oh, I really fancy chocolate cake today”.

On the upside, I’ve lost a lot of weight.

Imagine the day we would be able to sneeze with hay fever, Still covering the mouth, of course, but not feeling 3 million eyes on you...Not feeling as if you have committed a grave wrong.

I wonder when the fear will retreat.
A good while I suppose ☹️

Oh worlybear that's crap, so sorry Sad

Glad to see I'm not the only weirdo who misses work! After several not so great years I just started at a school I love last September with amazing colleagues, and now this. Not in immediate danger of losing my job, but I'm worried about the future longer term.

Right now though I'm just glad my local cafes are open for take away coffee again Grin I'm really surprised at how much difference it's made to my tolerance of lockdown even though I can still see very few people (most of my friends live quite far away). You can tell I have my priorities in order!

My martial arts club

Nipping to the pub behind my house on a sunny afternoon for a quick drink whilst the kids play at the park and then end up meeting friends there and spending the whole afternoon and evening there, listening to the band and watching the kids run around the field with the torches from our phones.

Slow mooching in a supermarket, primark, ikea.
