DH says he has read this on a local paper this evening. I am trying to find things and it does say July but not neccessarily the 1st. We have a holiday booked to Spain on the 2nd and we really don't want to go!
Its our first in years and the kids are only 7 & 4. It won't be the holiday we wanted for them at all.
Has anyone else read this today?

Surely it’s not just what the U.K. permits, but also the country you intend visiting?

So you can get a flight to Ireland for example, but when you get here you must quarantine for 14 days and many hotels and holiday accommodation won’t open until mid July.

@mumoftwodc
We are in same position, had to pay balance last week for travel in August. We want it to be cancelled so we can get refunded. Can’t do the suggested quarantine and don’t fancy risking a lockdown in Cyprus

QueenofthePrincess,

You posted on the 26th. Just reading it now. I'm in the exact same position as you. If the travel abroad restrictions are lifted, my partner would 100% want to go. I'm the same as you. I 100% don't want to go.

Thankfully so far we only have a deposit paid. I'm not interested in paying down on the rest of the holiday and deferring it. If I have money next year for a holiday, I want to visit family who live abroad.

France is allowing other nationals in from June 15 th but not British.

France is allowing other nationals in from June 15 th but not British

This is not correct.

We are booked to go to a Greek Island on 10th July. We booked flights and hotel separately. Our hotel have emailed us to say they are open from 1st July and have organised social distancing (Hmm). The flights are booked with Tui who have said nothing so far. I do not want to go but Dh and ds definitely do. I’m desperately hoping that the flights are not running, or /and Greece don’t let Brits in.

AnneKipanki · 30/05/2020 20:55

Ok @IcedPurple . Thanks.

AnneKipanki · 30/05/2020 21:28

I am pleased to be wrong Grin

I. Got through to TUI today and have changed it to next year . We were due to go to Spain 11/7 and I'm not prepared to do at least this gives us some breathing space . To change again it's £50 per person and if I cancel it I lose £800 out of £5000 as it is like a new booking from today . This seems like a good compromise . No way was I getting on that plane even if I lost it though .

missyB1 · 01/06/2020 14:04

@oohnicevase you got through to Tui and they were happy to deal with a July booking? We are due to fly with them 10/07 I didn’t think they were dealing with anything beyond June at the moment so I haven’t rang but sounds like it’s worth me trying?

oohnicevase · 01/06/2020 14:05

Yes .. we were due to go 11/7 this year , I was able to change it to next year free( in gave it's £200 cheaper) as I was worried the foreign office wouldn't cancel it!

missyB1 · 01/06/2020 14:13

Thanks I need to bite the bullet and ring them, Greece aren’t allowing UK tourists in anyway and I don’t want to sit on a plane!

BKT2 · 01/06/2020 14:23

We changed our August holiday to next year for free with Tui so they are changing August ones too.

oohnicevase · 01/06/2020 14:24

It took me 3 hours to get through so allow yourself time!!!

oohnicevase · 01/06/2020 14:25

Plus I haven't even been able to get in the queue al of last week although the girl did say they were getting more staff back into the shops to take calls next week .

missyB1 · 01/06/2020 14:41

Mine is flights only as we booked the hotel privately. So I’m not sure what Tui are offering just for flights might be a credit note I suppose.

BKT2 · 01/06/2020 20:07

Spain saying our numbers are still too high.
