Oh and here’s a 2014 Daily Fail (sorry) link where Boris laments being as blind as a bat and needing glasses Hmm

Boris Johnson claimed yesterday that he suffers from extremely poor eyesight and can barely see anything around the house without his glasses on.

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2799562/amp/i-m-blind-bat-says-boris-johnson-london-mayor-admits-needing-glasses-house.html?__twitter_impression=true

GrimmsFairytales · 25/05/2020 20:42

all carefully done to retrofit the info that has come out.

Oh definitely. Although you would have thought they could have come up with a better excuse for the trip to Barnard Castle.

PurplePansy05 · 25/05/2020 20:44

I thought Prince Andrew's interview was a car crash, surprisingly it didn't take long for someone else to take the crown.

Anyway. Boris will be Boris, a liar refusing to hold another liar to account.

What do we think is going to happen now? Boris will try to distract everyone with lifting the lockdown restrictions. But will this go away? Will this cause permanent damage to him, his government, the Conservatives? I hope so, it would be welcome and deserved.

I could never vote for him, not before and not after this. He's finished in my eyes. The whole response to CV has been shambolic and this is the final nail in the coffin.

I think next year will be an even bigger shitshow when Brexit becomes real after the current crisis. That's worrying.

I suspect Keir Starmer is having a busy long weekend preparing to dissect Johnson.

WhiteChocTwix · 25/05/2020 20:44

We cheered Beth's question. Absolute gold. Of course not answered. Whitty and Valance have clearly abandoned Bojo to preserve their integrity. I'd really love to know the uncensored version of what they make of Dom's actions. Hmm

SabrinaThwaite · 25/05/2020 20:46

Opposition party leaders meeting tomorrow to discuss how to hold Cummings and Johnson to account.

That’s one Zoom meeting I’d like to crash.

DuncinToffee · 25/05/2020 20:50

Yes Joe Pike just tweeted that as well

CONFIRMED: Tomorrow opposition party leaders (Labour, SNP, Lib Dems, DUP, Plaid Cymru, SDLP, Greens, and Alliance Party) will hold a meeting to 'discuss the next steps in holding Boris Johnson and Dominic Cummings to account'.

SouthWestmom · 25/05/2020 20:51

Really Sabrina that's cheered me right up.

I don't want a witch hunt or his wife and kid harassed or afraid in the house (I don't think that's happened at all , just a possibility now) but I also don't want this to be done and dusted and nothing changes.

I might tweet or email Kier - help me Mr Starmer you're my only hope Grin

Well you know what they say about witch hunts ...

... sometimes you find a bona fide witch.

SouthWestmom · 25/05/2020 20:58
Grin

True. But the moral high ground is in truth and fact and easily muddied.

Unfortunately it’s DC who has made this all about his wife and child. He’s dropped them right in it. Using them as his shield. I think that is dispicable.

Remember it was DC who fired a special advisor to the Chancellor, without the Chancellor even knowing about it and had her marched out by police officers with no authority to do so. He is ruthless and I bear him no sympathy.

But what concerns me most of Boris wanting to protect his aide more than clarity of Public Health message. He is clearly putting the critical needs of the country second here.

GlacindaTheTroll · 25/05/2020 21:15

You know things are bad when

a) The Mail and The Guardian are on the same side
b) MNetters are ready to admit that they agree with what Piers Morgan has been tweeting

#SackBorisandDom now trending

What a relief! Last time I looked it was #CumGate

AuntieStella · 25/05/2020 21:16

Must be a huge closet-full of skeletons....

AlohaMolly · 25/05/2020 21:21

A meeting of all the opposing parties is ringing alarm bells for me. The scariest thing is that this shitstorm is the one that DC has allowed to happen in order to cover up something that would make a bigger one than this - that’s my thinking.

What is going to happen while all the other parties are busy being angry at this and trying to hold them to account??

theThreeofWeevils · 25/05/2020 21:22

wife and child. He’s dropped them right in it

The wife is herself a lying sleazeball (her published story and Cummings's simply do not stack up together) and I will be wasting no sympathy on her.

PurplePansy05 · 25/05/2020 21:25

I agree the fact he used his child as a political shield is disgraceful.

Even more disgraceful that some plants and bots on Twitter yesterday made up a story his son is severely autistic to try and shut people up. Which obviously caused even more outrage, as any half decent person would expect.

This man's views were shaped in the early 90s when he lived in Russia. And believe me, the vibe he has is not a positive one. The only shared thing I have with him is the love for Dostoyevski. But he man is delusional, thinking of himself as a disruptor, anarchist and a pioneer of the new world order. Untouchable. We've seen this before in history and it never ended well.

AuntieStella · 25/05/2020 21:25

What else is going on:

How's the tracking app getting along? How safe is your personal data?

How come there are further relaxations being announced when the 5 tests have not yet been met?

GrimmsFairytales · 25/05/2020 21:27

AuntieStella Good questions.

SouthWestmom · 25/05/2020 21:38

The asd angle was weird. It made a lot of sense especially as BJ had alluded to medical reasons (am assuming he meant the hospital). I bought it as probably true so that's a lesson to me to wait for facts.

Borris using the advice now, the glasses he pulled out our dons.

happystone · 25/05/2020 21:41

When I say advice, he’s benn tould not to say sicence advice,

alreadytaken · 25/05/2020 21:51

Whatever the truth is it looks like Whitty and Vallance refused to lie and therefore were sent home

PurplePansy05 · 25/05/2020 22:00

Wonder if we'll be seeing more of Jenny The Puppet Harries.

Laaf80 · 25/05/2020 22:07

The question during BJ presser regarding groups of people congregating.

My first thought was maybe they are using common sense.
My second, using instinct.
My third, using judgement.

They have FUCKED UP the public health message. Lock down is over.

SabrinaThwaite · 25/05/2020 22:07

The Mirror and The Mail are on the same page - tomorrow’s front pages.

It takes a spectacularly stupid and arrogant man to think that that story was remotely credible, or that we are going to swallow their attempt to make out that his actions were within the rules.

If Cummings is the brightest of the Downing Street spads, I tremble to think what the intelligence levels of the rest must be like.
