“I was told to find a friendly face......Laura...”

YogaLite · 25/05/2020 16:48

No regrets???
Reasonable???

vera99 · 25/05/2020 16:49

His kid needed the loo on a short trip, but not on a 4 hour motorway drive? This is a proper Prince Andrew moment.

effingterrified · 25/05/2020 16:49

Dominic Cummings: I will ask people in the order of a list I have been given.

Not stated: a list which I wrote.

janet1267 · 25/05/2020 16:49

I thought the story was bollocks but I thought he came across well. I've never heard him speak before other than to be curt with the press.

I don't agree with what he did. I think his wife wrote a load of utter bullshit. But I actually think he came across as more competent and credible than Boris Johnson and most of his Cabinet.

I'm inclined to forgive and move on.

AlecTrevelyan006 · 25/05/2020 16:49

Jackanory

itsgettingweird · 25/05/2020 16:49

So no specialist childcare.

It's because he's the victim.

I don't at all think he broke guidance by visiting local attraction because he was already there and out of isolation period.

But he didn't stay at home.

Belindabelle · 25/05/2020 16:49

He’s borrowed that shirt from Boris hasn’t he.

GrimmsFairytales · 25/05/2020 16:49

I hope that people will understand... what that the rules didn't apply to you. Angry

NewAccountForCorona · 25/05/2020 16:49

I have to admire the well written speech. He's managed to include all the accusations and weave a wonderful story to justify it all.

SouthWestmom · 25/05/2020 16:50

What is Laura doing? Feeding him lines?

AlovelybitofsquirrelJackie · 25/05/2020 16:50

The wobbly voice isn't convincing me at all

StealthPolarBear · 25/05/2020 16:50

Not conplicated
Two sick pare ts
One small child

Like families UP AND DOWN THE SODDING LAND

Saucery · 25/05/2020 16:50

So the jokes about “if you need to drive 260 miles to find someone who will help you it might mean you’re a bit of a cunt” aren’t so far off the mark, are they.

vera99 · 25/05/2020 16:50

Conveniently neither he or Boris remember the conversation.

SouthWestmom · 25/05/2020 16:50

Robert. We can all take a loo break.

OP posts:
Cailleach1 · 25/05/2020 16:50

Ah, you're only angry because it was reported in the media. If you had only known he had to drive to BC to test his eyesight. I need to go to the Cotswolds to test my legs.

JackiFazaki · 25/05/2020 16:50

Laura Keunsberg let him off the hook.

StealthPolarBear · 25/05/2020 16:50

He's not taking the opportunities she's offering him to show any contrition at all

effingterrified · 25/05/2020 16:51

He's loving the grandeur of addressing the world's press in the Number 10 Rose Garden and keeping them all waiting for 30 minutes.

He's a jumped-up, unelected, Spad. FFS.

And he's not sorry. Won't say sorry. Won't admit he did anything wrong. Shit.

SabrinaThwaite · 25/05/2020 16:51

Total Jackanory sob story.

"I believed I had a small child exemption".

Fuck that.

NewAccountForCorona · 25/05/2020 16:51

Had he said all that three weeks ago, and had he not gone to the Castle place I might understand.

As it is, he broke the law, he flouted the rules, the only thing he is sorry is that someone saw him.

YogaLite · 25/05/2020 16:51

Since when he is more of a PM deputy than the actual cabinet office???

janet1267 · 25/05/2020 16:51

Oh no, not Peston. He takes too much time talking because he loves the sound of his own voice.

I want someone to ask about the Spectator article.

JackiFazaki · 25/05/2020 16:51

Fucks sake, Peston now.
(Sorry I'll shut up now.) gnash gnash gnash
