I doubt I’m alone. There is definitely a feeling of Do as I say and not as I do defiance going on.
I hadn’t seen my boyfriend in ages, we went for a walk in the park, it’s just not enough. So I went to his house and spent a few hours with him.
The risks are relatively low, as in he works from home etc but after being so diligent with the rules for so long I’m now totally disheartened by people just doing what the hell they like and now I’ve become one of them.

@userxx it isn't, that is genuinely their plan if too many staff need to self-isolate. They don't have enough staff in other locations to move them in even if it is deemed safe.

@barbites me (or anyone) smoking, getting fat, being drunk or taking drugs is not going to infect anyone in a supermarket is it? Unless I’m drink/drug driving it’s not going to bother anyone else at all so you can’t really compare the situations - I didn’t know that you can spread getting fat by being close to someone Hmm

barbites · 25/05/2020 12:58

@Apinchofsalt so we stop treating STD's then?

@barbites again, you can’t catch an STD from being in the supermarket Hmm

barbites · 25/05/2020 13:57

@Apinchofsalt

"I think the solution is fairly simple. If you don’t want to follow the rules and therefore risk getting Covid, then you need to sign some sort of waiver to say you won’t use the NHS should you catch the virus and need any medical help.
Sounds fair to me"

You said nothing about a supermarket. You're saying anyone that may contract Covid because they aren't following the rules should be denied treatment.
My point is that everyone knows how to be healthy but many people don't follow these guidelines either but still accept NHS care.
Anyway the chances are, if you get Covid you won't need hospital care!

What about the people wearing gloves and masks incorrectly, they are increasing the risk of infection for themselves and everyone else they come into contact with, should they also be denied treatment?

Apinchofsalt · 25/05/2020 14:34

@barbites you’re quite right I didn’t mention a supermarket - you however did. And it’s you and your comment I was replying to.

pfrench · 25/05/2020 14:46

What about people who have been at work throughout, but also have not been following the rules in their own time - are they allowed NHS treatment in this crazy world of your imagination?

pfrench · 25/05/2020 14:48

Where are all the frothers demonising you like they did Cummings?

Different time now than it was in mid March. You surely understand that.

LST · 25/05/2020 14:51

I'm seeing my mum now. We live across the road. I couldn't cope anymore.

ToffeeYoghurt · 25/05/2020 14:54

Infection risk in hospital is still very high. But out in the community it is very low.
Or has it started increasing in the community again?
Perhaps Weston Super Mare is an outlier?

Apinchofsalt · 25/05/2020 14:59

@majesticallyawkward If people are staying two meters away from each other why are they wearing gloves and masks (incorrectly or not)?

AnneKipanki · 25/05/2020 15:12

The 2 m is just a number. The droplets can be anywhere.

majesticallyawkward · 25/05/2020 15:32

@Apinchofsalt absolutely not, the wearing of gloves incorrectly can actually spread the virus. Fiddling with the mask and the touching things again can spread it.

I just broke the rules
Apinchofsalt · 25/05/2020 16:22

@majesticallyawkward but if you’re staying the required two meters away from people why are you needing to wear gloves and masks?

majesticallyawkward · 25/05/2020 16:47

@Apinchofsalt I'm not wearing them. That was my point, people who are wearing them are not doing so correctly but come along and scream murderer at everyone else.

Not everyone is staying the arbitrary 2m apart, I find more so those wearing masks are flouting that.

Apinchofsalt · 25/05/2020 17:26

@majesticallyawkward ahh I see. And I totally agree
