Saw the previous thread is almost full. Hope I've not duplicated a new thread! And I might not be the best person to be custodian of this one, so feel free someone else to start a replacement and I'll get this deleted. Otherwise -

Here we all are, at least 56 days plus 😕

@TiddleTaddleTat The fatigue hit me like a tonne of bricks a few days ago, brought on by the start of my period, I think.

I started taking evening primrose oil when my PMS symptoms were becoming really bad before my last period and it really, really helped. My breastpain/cramps receded and it was the easiest period I've had in quite a while. And thankfully the Covid related relapse I was terrified of never happened. The month before I had a week of 4-5 soaking nightsweats every night leaving me drenched and needed to get up and get changed. (And then wash and dry all my pjs for the next night!) Last week I my worst night was needed 3 pj changes and another couple of nights where I needed to change once. Still a bit shit but a massive improvement on the previous night.

ofwarren · 28/05/2020 12:25

@alittleprivacy do you take the evening primrose every day or just at certain times in your cycle?

Moodgie · 28/05/2020 12:46

@Moominmamma33 Thank you for your post and for the hope - so pleased for you!

alittleprivacy · 28/05/2020 13:10

@ofwarren do you take the evening primrose every day or just at certain times in your cycle?

I think you are meant to take it all month but I just took it for a few days before my period, during it and then tapered it off. I had a night sweat the night I stopped taking it but have been fine since. My plan for now is to take it as soon as PMS symptoms start until my period ends. But that's only because I could only buy it in Holland & Barrett where it's pretty expensive. If I can find it in Lidl or a different generic brand, I'll probably try a low dose all month and up it if I get symptoms.

Egghead68 · 28/05/2020 13:15

Great news @Moominmamma33! Hope you continue to feel better and better.

Whatnext2018 · 28/05/2020 13:16

Am feeling v disheartened and a bit shit. Doctor finally called me back-blood tests all clear and urine all clear. Basically couldn’t tell me what to do as she’d done all the blood tests and to go to the hospital if I still feel ill?! I’m not even sure where to go from here? Another doctor or emergency, when it isn’t an emergency?
The main things I re-told her on the phone was I have Dizziness, diarreah, numbness in mouth and face sometimes, pain upper left back and some sinus pain.
She said she could prescribe me diarrreah tablets (or tell me which ones to get at the chemist) just said I’d need to go to the hospital for further exams as she can only see from the blood tests all is clear.
She couldn’t wait to get me off the phone, just want someone to help and actually give a shit😢
How I wish I was back in the uk

Toptottie24 · 28/05/2020 13:29

Hey everyone,
Ended up at the Doctors this morning as my breathing wasn’t good and the fatigue also, got jelly legs and feel so weak, chest is tight too.
Had all the vitals done and all ok which is so bizarre!?
My Doctor has sent me to the hospital as my doctor wants to check I haven’t got a clot.
So no idea what they are going to do, wondering if I’ll the antibody test?
Hope you are all ok feeling better.

RuffRiders · 28/05/2020 13:32

@SparklingIsolation

I agree, and the only thing that helped me in April, apart from my G.P & a nurse that said it was highly probable that is was Covid was this-

"Cases of coronavirus and COVID-19 can generally be categorised into five groups"

Asymptomatic
Mild
Moderate
Severe
Criticical

From patient.info/news-and-features/coronavirus-what-are-moderate-severe-and-critical-covid-19

I believe mine was moderate, verging on severe, 2 G.P's wondered if I needed to be sent in to hospital & they told me to ring 999 if I deteriorated any further. I first got symptoms on March 9th.

I now have a post Covid therapy team, that are monitoring me, thank goodness.

Egghead68 · 28/05/2020 13:37

Good luck in the hospital @Toptottie24.

@Whatnext2018 I know it doesn’t feel like it but is it really good news all your bloods were normal. Maybe this means your symptoms are now post-viral.

MillStone · 28/05/2020 13:55

Hey @RuffRiders

Post c19 recovery team, sounds like it’s what everyone here needs!

What do they do for you, is it helpful, and how did you access it please?

Linus1972 · 28/05/2020 15:26

Hi all - anyone see this study from a couple of days ago?

www.theguardian.com/world/2020/may/26/research-reveals-gene-role-in-both-dementia-and-severe-covid-19?CMP=twt_gu

I had my DNA profile done at 23andme a few years ago. And I have 1 copy of the 4e variant (2 copies of it tend to be associated with the worst outcomes). And here I am, 10 weeks after getting COVID, with ongoing gastric problems and chest wall inflammation. I wonder if any of us other long-tailers also have 1 copy of the e4 variant.

Was feeling perhaps my gastric issues had abated so I'd stopped Nexium and even had a pizza a couple of days ago (my first one in 2 months). The resulting gas/bloating/stomach ache was terrible for a whole day. A warning to anyone wanting to return to "normal" food after months of medication and gastric issues. Spoke to a gastro-entrologist last night and he has put me back on a double dose of Nexium for two weeks and also recommended a pro-biotic called Symprove which he says is very good (it's liquid form not a pill - I'll report back). Feel like I just rolled a 4 and landed on a snake Sad

LetsBeSensible · 28/05/2020 15:49

Day 71 I conclude I have been relapsed for almost a week. I’m absolutely weak again and failing at washing every day Envy - not envy

The relapse has, for me, got all the hallmarks of CFS. Headache, burning pinches, weak, very Beaty heart, fatigue, jelly legs. I’m not that worried about the Covid symptoms as SOB isn’t really a feature, reflux is annoying but under control of meds and I never really had the cough.

Whatnext2018 · 28/05/2020 16:14

Another new symptom it seems..has anyone had strange feeling in top, middle of chest, sometimes like something’s tight or stuck there, other times it kind of moves/flutters in there? Difficult to explain and difficult again to know if anxiety or something else, spent this afternoon wondering if I’m having a heart attack, that’s not normal is it.

Egghead68 · 28/05/2020 16:20

That’s really interesting @Linus1972. I am negative for APOE4.

I am really sorry about your relapse @LetsBeSensible. I’m on my second mostly sofa-bound day after a good run of feeling reasonably OK. I hope you can rest as much as you need to.

Lightsabre · 28/05/2020 16:36

Hope everything went ok @Toptottie24 at the hospital.

@Linus1972, can I ask if you are accessing this help via your GP please or privately? Just curious as there seems to be an inconsistent service around the U.K. wish we had a post Covid team!

Toptottie24 · 28/05/2020 16:55

@Lightsabre
Had a chest X-ray then back again 2moro for a CT scan, have to have the dye put in.
Had to have a blood thinning injection due to suspected blood clot on the lung.
☹️

Linus1972 · 28/05/2020 17:12

@Lightsabre it was a private doctor I saw - someone I'd used about 2 years ago.

Whatnext2018 · 28/05/2020 17:31

Thanks so much @Egghead68 Yes it’s a relief isn’t diabetes etc, but still begs the question is it post viral or is something else going on.

I’ve never even had health anxiety before, this is hellish, I think I’ll have to start the calming tablets.
Something new seems to come along so quickly, the list of all the different things sounds like it’s being made up!
I Whatsapped it all to my mum today and she was a bit like ‘Umm’ she can normally help to diagnose things or have an idea just from watching medical shows lol. She was concerned about numbing in the face and mouth/lips the most, as am I!

hollieberrie · 28/05/2020 17:32

Checking back in after a wobbly couple of days.
@AndsLee i'm still giggling about your "slighachs" with cottage cheese - i just had a large snack of yoghurt and musesli and then a piece of salmon. Dont know about anyone else but i am STARVING ALL THE TIME.

@SirBale Welcome to the "living alone crew". It sucks. How are you holding up?

This week i've seen the GP and the osteopath. GP mentioned anxiety!!! NO. But in good news my BP has come down.
I also got some omeprazole for the reflux - GP is adament that it is not Covid related!!?!! I'm loathe to take medication for it really though. Unless desperate. Those with reflux issues, what are you finding is working to ease it? I have never had it before, its driving me crazy. I was hoping to just wait it out but it shows no signs of lessening at all. I do drink a lot of kefir which does seem to help a bit (unless i'm imagining it) and interested in those probiotics @Linus1972

AndsLee · 28/05/2020 17:47

@hollieberrie
I am finding probiotics help...at the very least they soothe. Were you actually in seeing your GP? Did they examine you?

I find that sometimes I am starving, other times canna be bothered with food at all...

Considering some corn beef hash today my lovely! How exciting...WinkFlowers

SirBale · 28/05/2020 17:56

@hollieberrie

Being in the ‘living alone crew’ definitely sucks! I’ve had a better couple of days again after crying on the phone to the GP on Tuesday. Trying hard to push myself too much though for fear of that I’ll exhaust myself and end up with the extreme fatigue again.

Have a call back with the Dr again tomorrow. I’m really not sure how much or the lingering symptoms are being exaggerated by anxiety and how much are still directly covid related.

hollieberrie · 28/05/2020 18:00

@AndsLee GP only agreed to see my because I'm still having a lot of ear trouble and he wanted to check there was no infection (there isnt). He was very nice but he didnt seem to know much anything about Covid. The doc i saw last time at the practice seemed a bit more informed. He did sign me off work for a month though which was a win.

Ooh yum, enjoy! How are you bearing up? I've felt a little bit better today but as we know its constant ups and downs.

hollieberrie · 28/05/2020 18:03

@SirBale sending a hug. Great you've been in touch with the GP. I also cried when i spoke to mine so youre not alone there.
I know exactly what you mean about the symptoms. I dont thiiink mine are anxiety induced but then again i paper cut my finger yesterday and cried.. so maybe a bit! Its v hard to know and all these symptoms are so new.

AndsLee · 28/05/2020 18:06

@hollieberrie
So I am good ta. Had a couple of good days, spoiled by a rubbish dream last night. Oh, actually...I had a wee question for you. Can I PM you? (He he...I don't mean make you Prime Minister...although I bet you'd be brill.)

@SirBale Flowers Home Alone gang x

hollieberrie · 28/05/2020 18:21

@AndsLee Ha! yes of course.. go for it
