But they didn't even "remain locked down", wife travelled with symptoms!!! Aaaaaargh

janet1267 · 24/05/2020 10:08

I wish Andrew Marr would push harder on the fact that DC and his family were infected with the virus. It makes what he did so much worse.

Everytimeref · 24/05/2020 10:08

@itsgettingweird. Totally agree someone was in the garden and they were getting a bit stressed knowing they had broke the guidelines.

SouthWestmom · 24/05/2020 10:08

Marr is much better than Rigby although she did her best.

Cummings or the policy?

Daddy or chips?

What a convenient version of coronavirus Cummings has had. It’s really bad when necessary (needing mummy’s help, desperately worried about his child, showing symptoms) , but trivial and non communicable when it has to be (symptomless, driving around the country, going to stay with 70+ Year olds)

Lying liars are lying. There isn’t a pair of pants in the government not bursting into flames.

CarrieBlue · 24/05/2020 10:09

The advert at the top of my screen is for volunteers to help the vulnerable - ‘can you pop to the shop for Helen?’ - it’s almost like DC had an alternative

Ultrasoft · 24/05/2020 10:09

It's not a big deal itsgettingweird but early on Piers moved to his country home and has been working from there. As far as I know he's stayed put but the general advice was not to do that because of putting pressure on local resources.

Schrodingerspeanutbuttersandw · 24/05/2020 10:10

@Everytimeref I wonder if they just think DC is an important public figure so family let police know where he was to be 'aware'. Hahaha backfired now though. Might be why DS said the police didn't speak to them about this matter too.

Everytimeref · 24/05/2020 10:10

Marr "Not his primary residence"
It's very important everyone else does what they are told, except DC.

Ultrasoft · 24/05/2020 10:10

He's also been very harsh on "ordinary" people on Southend beach etc whist living inuxury at a home with extensive grounds and a swimming pool, which I find hard to take.

minou123 · 24/05/2020 10:11

"We never told people where to self isolate"

Can he hear himself? Angry

merrymouse · 24/05/2020 10:11

"We never told people where to self isolate"

Even now people are not allowed to stay in second homes.

HandsOffMyRights · 24/05/2020 10:12

The audacity that GS and Govt are trying to make out the guidelines never said you had to stay home.

minou123 · 24/05/2020 10:12

Andrew: "we've run out of time to discuss transport"

Grin
Ultrasoft · 24/05/2020 10:12

We obviously all misinterpreted the "stay at home" banner they stood behind everyday.

chomalungma · 24/05/2020 10:13

I can't believe that he didn't speak to Dominic Cummings at all before the interviews.

Sacrificial lamb to the slaughter?

SouthWestmom · 24/05/2020 10:13

That is just a lie. The guidance on 22 March says to self isolate at home and not to travel to self isolate. I've posted it, it's crystal clear. There is no caveat about children in there, it's separate guidance to the self isolating with symptoms guidance.

"The key point has always been that you remain locked down"

Which is weird because I just can't remember 'remain locked down' being written anywhere.

GrimmsFairytales · 24/05/2020 10:14

Andrew: "we've run out of time to discuss transport"

I loved that. Gave me a good chuckle.

SailingOver · 24/05/2020 10:15

Two parents with CV were anxiously taking care of their child?

And the only way to do so was by spreading the virus around the country and lying about it? Sure, that makes sense! Grin

We all had to deal with tough circumstances and manage looking after our dc without flouting the rules.

What a corrupt bunch.

SouthWestmom · 24/05/2020 10:15

I really hope this continues and the pressure is piled on.

Funny isn't it. I can find stay home, don't travel to other houses and isolate in your primary residence if you or a family member has symptoms. But nowhere can I find this key point that Shapps stated. It's almost like it doesn't exist....

itsgettingweird · 24/05/2020 10:17

Ultra he has said all along he stayed in his London home. He's been photographed outside and inside his London home. He was complaining he couldn't clean his car as it's on the road. It matters if he's been ranting and raving (and you can't deny he's bullied some people) all the way through this whilst breaking the rules himself.
