@Blerg that's so upsetting isn't it? The huge sacrifices people have made and the hardships they've endured are all now completely rubbished by the message that they never had to go through them, they just weren't responsible enough. Or didn't care about their kids enough.

It's absolutely gutting.

MockersxxxxxxxSocialDistancing · 24/05/2020 17:40

People of Britain, this is precisely the lying shit you voted for.

More fool you if you're surprised.

CricketCrocket · 24/05/2020 17:41

I’m so angry about this. Just sticking two fingers up at all of us.

It might be childish reaction but fuck it, I’m seeing my family from now on.

CoachBombay · 24/05/2020 17:42

No I'm not a government aid, but the same is asked of me as him.

And to the poster who asked, how was I going to get there. I would drive.

Everything given was guidance/advice/if possible. Nothing was law. So it's a bit like the pirate code, more like guidelines.

MarshaBradyo · 24/05/2020 17:42

Cummings probably said refer to me as Mr Cummings

Fuckers. Laugh or cry

TSSDNCOP · 24/05/2020 17:44

I have not dated in my house for 10 weeks for fucking pirate code!!!!!!!

Ineedtobecalm · 24/05/2020 17:44

I really r

dancingshoex · 24/05/2020 17:44

Is this intentional? It will lead to the mass abandoning of lockdown as it's farcical and they can get the economy going again whilst never having really made the decision (after all, the "track and trace" pillar is never going to be satisfied).

If there is a second spike (actually starting to look unlikely) there'll be deniability ... "it's your own silly fault British public for coming out of lockdown before we said you could".

Anybody else think the timing is interesting? They created the hysteria, massively over egged it and now urgently need to wind it back, good way to do that is to convert it to anger and mass non compliance!

TSSDNCOP · 24/05/2020 17:44

Stayed in my house. I am so fucking angry I can't see what I'm typing.

SouthWestmom · 24/05/2020 17:44

It's like an impotent fury I feel now. I'm going to have to step away from the news.

Not me, I didn't!

I need to get this clear in my head... we should've just been following our instincts instead of following the rules, is that correct?

What I want to happen is one or all of these...

  1. Photo or proof from service station on M1 of DC taking his son to the loo
  2. Photo or proof of DC taking more than one journey up to Durham
  3. Photo or proof of the Castle visit
derxa · 24/05/2020 17:45

I can't get worked up about this.As a single mother, if I became unwell, I was going to move in to the granny flat in my mother's house some miles away People will shout at you but what else could you have done? Who else would have looked after your DC?

MockersxxxxxxxSocialDistancing · 24/05/2020 17:45

Pirate Code would have an Arrrrrrrrr rate of under 1.

Ineedtobecalm · 24/05/2020 17:46

Sorry I really hope Starmer absolutely annihilates the Tories with this

MockersxxxxxxxSocialDistancing · 24/05/2020 17:47

I think they're doing a good job anihilating themeselves.

Roll on Wednesday and the Liason Ctee with all those Tory chairs passed over for cabinet jobs.

lilgreen · 24/05/2020 17:47

Lockdown is over people! Enjoy your family.

KenDodd · 24/05/2020 17:47

I see Vote Leave are screaming fake news about Cummings accusers.

CoachBombay · 24/05/2020 17:48

Mockers 😂😂😂😂

Saladmakesmesad · 24/05/2020 17:48

Anyone with a service station/toilet on that stretch of road should be checking their cameras for that date.

Aria20 · 24/05/2020 17:48

What has DC got over BJ? There must be something big for him to be going all out to defend him!

PJsEveryday · 24/05/2020 17:49

This has broken me. I've been emotional anyway as I'm not coping too well. I've not seen my parents in 9 weeks. My dad got CV, poorly but not severe and we were so worried about my mum getting it as she is in poor health. She didnt (or was asymptomatic) but our worry was huge and it as so hard not to visit. She is in need of a hug and misses her grandkids so much.

This is a basterding kick in the face for everyone who has followed the rules for the sake of themselves and other people. I might just go and visit my parents tomorrow. The psychological need to see them is overwhelming right now, but not sure i can trust myself not to hug them.

Snog · 24/05/2020 17:49

I'm furious about Boris defending Cummings. I think they both need to go as they have made a mockery of lockdown restrictions. Clearly we can all decide as individuals which aspects of lockdown we want to go along with. How can we possibly manage a pandemic with this kind of management of the country? It's so dangerous for all of us.

It seems like Boris is a ridiculous puppet of Cummings, surely the Rasputin of our times.

Saladmakesmesad · 24/05/2020 17:49

I know this is a minor point but...

Barnard Castle is not a castle. It's a place. Just so you know.

cantdothisnow1 · 24/05/2020 17:49

Everyone who is furious needs to lobby their MP about it, whether the MP is Tory or not.

I have done so this morning and will do again now, in response to some of the specific nonsense the PM has spouted, in particular the point that DC acted with integrity and that he took action to avoid spreading the virus.

At that time there was a clear 'Stay at Home' message. We cannot let this go under the carpet.

gluteustothemaximus · 24/05/2020 17:49

I've never been so angry about anything in politics in my life.

Same here. I'm livid.
