How do we get Britain to stop voting these fuckers in? Please let Kier Starmer have something to say

Pointless questions now. BJ gives no fucks.

Yes, Cummings definitely wrote that alright. I can just hear Boris now saying Yea Dominic, of course I'll say you acted with complete integrity.

Some clever journalist needs to trawl back through the daily briefing footage and will hopefully find a question posed along the lines of "if myself and my partner are infected, can we travel halfway up the country to be with my parents?" Preferably followed by the answer "No, You Must Stay At Home"

Roussette · 24/05/2020 17:16

The thing is... this has just belittled everything that the public has gone through, those that have struggled at home, who haven't seen their parents for weeks/months, those that have had to make the most enormous sacrifices in so many ways.

If I had made enormous sacrifices, I would immediately decide... OK I'm off to my Mum's to stay for a few days. This is going to have big big repurcussions and when there is a spike - which there will be - the Govt will try and blame the public. DC needs to be thrown back at BoJo again and again.

MarshaBradyo · 24/05/2020 17:16

I feel that level of annoyance and frustration you get when something is markedly unfair, from a position of authority. So annoyed right now.

I actually could get by with Cummings staying only because I know Johnson is too weak willed and woolly to do anything without his decider. But I do not get why what he did was ok. And why the PM can say that. Fark

Saladmakesmesad · 24/05/2020 17:18

Yeah now we get long answers nobody cares about to the questions they've chosen in advance as being most fucking pointless.

MockersxxxxxxxSocialDistancing · 24/05/2020 17:18

One of the great eye-openers of my political education was the justification given by Anthony Blunt for his treason: "When it came to a choice of betraying my country or betraying my friends, I chose to betray my country."

So speak the posh boys.

SouthWestmom · 24/05/2020 17:18

Ah, lots of waffle and no time for journos

Calm before the storm

GrimmsFairytales · 24/05/2020 17:19

Ah, lots of waffle and no time for journos

Cynical, us, no not at all.

We'll be lucky to get more than 2 journo questions, and w al know who the first one will be.

SouthWestmom · 24/05/2020 17:19

I reckon they will run out of time. I'm fucking livid.

FuckThisWind · 24/05/2020 17:20

Yes, very apt Mockers.

Theforest · 24/05/2020 17:20

And he thinks we are sending our children back to school on his word?? Fuming.

MockersxxxxxxxSocialDistancing · 24/05/2020 17:20

Let's see who's been chosen from the press pool today.....

Miriel · 24/05/2020 17:21

It would be bad enough if they admitted that he'd done the wrong thing in travelling to Durham, but decided there would be no consequences for it.

Saying that he was right to do what he did and that the guidelines allowed for it, when so many ill parents have been in exactly his situation and got through it as best as they could without leaving home? It feels like gaslighting on a national scale.

We'll remember this.

BruceAndNosh · 24/05/2020 17:21

I'd actually have more respect for BJ if he said "yes DC did break guidelines, and shouldn't have done it but I'm not sacking him"

AgeLikeWine · 24/05/2020 17:21

So Orville the duck isn’t allowed to sack Keith Harris. Quelle surprise....

SouthWestmom · 24/05/2020 17:21

Ian's been silenced

OP posts:
JackiFazaki · 24/05/2020 17:22

Convenient audio fail on the journos

GrimmsFairytales · 24/05/2020 17:22

Technical problems, how convenient....

MockersxxxxxxxSocialDistancing · 24/05/2020 17:22

...This is what the football managers call 'game management.'

TSSDNCOP · 24/05/2020 17:22

Oh fucxache Peston

mrsspooky · 24/05/2020 17:22

He should have stopped at the bit where he thought it was an understandable thing for a father to do.... stop there ok, to go to integrity WTAF!

StealthPolarBear · 24/05/2020 17:22

They've got Ian on a blacklist

MockersxxxxxxxSocialDistancing · 24/05/2020 17:23

Aaaaaaagh! Peston and his verbal diahorreah.
