Couldn't help noticing in Sainsbo today how many people - men & women - have decent haircuts.
They can't all be living with hairdressers/barbers.
Is there an underground organisation?
Knock 3 times and ask for ????

It's quite easy to your own. Most of my friends have been cutting their families hair.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 19/05/2020 20:16

i came home and DD had cut DS's hair. Looks really well!

I on the other had have been to see a professional (with mask and hand sanitation) - i started to look like a shetland pony

NameChange84 · 19/05/2020 20:20

I’ve been cutting my family’s hair at home. It looks really professional.

Flymetothetoon · 19/05/2020 20:20

I've cut my own hair and being a natural blonde I don't have roots and hair dye to worry about!

CherryPavlova · 19/05/2020 20:20

I cut my husband’s and daughter’s. It’s not that difficult.

RufustheLanglovingreindeer · 19/05/2020 20:22

Ds1 cut/shaved mine with Clippers on the highest setting

Did a pretty good job...apart from the patch where we both forgot to check the setting...and it was on the lowest setting 😳

BigChocFrenzy · 19/05/2020 20:24

Rufus Shock Do you have a monk's tonsure ?

AnneLovesGilbert · 19/05/2020 20:25

DH does my fringe now. My stepmum has had her stylist come to do hers at home, cut and colour. I confess to having judged her though I said nothing. My mum was outraged but her hair grows so fast she’s finally decided to embrace the grey and is getting most of it lopped off as soon as her salon opens.

I’ve noticed most of BBC folk are looking spick and span, not sure what trickery is taking place there...

RufustheLanglovingreindeer · 19/05/2020 20:27

bigchoc

Its a two inch by one inch patch...it’ll grow quickly, he did it last week and it’s hardly noticeable now

He did one sweep...realised what he’d done and stopped

There was a deathly silence....

😀

BigChocFrenzy · 19/05/2020 20:28

I also slunk in today to the hairdresser (Germany) with my wildly overgrown mop
They know me well, even under disgraceful mop and mask

The haircut was with mask on - torture the last 10 minutes when hairs got under the mask
I was twitching and trying not to scratch

However, I am now the proud owner of a very short pixie with undercut (all grey & proud of it)
My head feels so much lighter and I'm not peering through hair to see

What's the schedule in the Uk for hairdressers ?

Chillipeanuts · 19/05/2020 20:28

I haven’t been to an hairdresser for decades so I’m feeling quite smug (picture a smug Worzel Gunmidge, probably Grin)

BigChocFrenzy · 19/05/2020 20:29

Rufus You can return the favour

BigChocFrenzy · 19/05/2020 20:31

At least MiniRufus can rule out one future career ....

cushioncovers · 19/05/2020 20:34

I've been cutting my own hair. My hairdressers probably going to cringe when she sees it but it's ok for now.

RufustheLanglovingreindeer · 19/05/2020 20:41

Rufus You can return the favour

He beat me to it

I was his third haircut

But yeah...I don’t reckon barbering is his thing

nex18 · 19/05/2020 20:49

I have been cutting my own fringe and my dd has trimmed a few split ends, my chin length bob is now shoulder length, I always dye it myself. I’ve done a reasonable job of ds’s typical teenage boy cut. Dd’s hair is waist length so you’d never know if it had been cut recently anyway.

Dinosauratemydaffodils · 19/05/2020 20:56

Dh cut 7 inches off mine at the start of lockdown. It's wavy anyway so whilst not neccessarily 100 percent straight, it looks fine. Now sits just below my shoulders.

Mummyoflittledragon · 19/05/2020 21:02

I’ve been cutting and dying dhs hair. 3 cuts, 2 dyes. It looks pretty good. Dd has refused to have hers trimmed for over a year now. Mine needs cutting and colouring. But it isn’t too bad. I only have a smattering of greys.

DontGoIntoTheLongGrass · 19/05/2020 21:04

Cut dh's hair last night for first time ever. Didn't look too bad. His colleagues today were convinced he went to a barber. My head is massive right now Grin

JaceLancs · 19/05/2020 21:05

I have trimmed DS and DP successfully
Lucky in that mine is of a style that I can leave it to grow quite a bit
I bought a root touch up kit but haven’t been brave enough to try it yet - the roots aren’t as bad as I thought as near to natural colour - grey probably 15%

Peridotty · 19/05/2020 21:05

I’ve been cutting my husbands hair 6 months before lockdown so had some practice beforehand !! Grin
The first couple of times were pretty bad but practice makes perfect. Watch some YouTube videos. The fading for me is the hardest part! Get some clippers and scissors from amazon!

He isn’t touching my hair though !!!Grin

HeIenaDove · 19/05/2020 21:12

4th July at the earliest @BigChocFrenzy

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 19/05/2020 21:18

I refuse to let anyone other than a trained hairdresser cut mine! I'll just put up with it until they reopen. I've been colouring it though as I'll look like a witch if I leave it!

PilatesPeach · 19/05/2020 21:18

I did my own - looked up some tutorials on youtube then went for it but already had hairdressing scissors. It's fine.

tappitytaptap · 19/05/2020 21:19

DM pointed out today that Nicola Sturgeon looks like she is seeing a hairdresser....
