Hi, I recently downloaded the Zoe covid 19 app. I've ticked no to all of the symptoms asked about, but for 2 days I couldn't stop sneezing and my nose wouldn't stop running. After 2 days nothing at all. It was very strange. I put this on the app. Last night I received an email telling me to get tested for covid 19. Should I? I was thinking yes. Can I take my dc in the car with me if I do go? Home tests seem to be unavailable.

Any thoughts/experiences?

I had migraine symptoms which got me invited to do a test . I got a home test kit.

The test kit was faulty as the tube with the pink stuff in it wouldn't seal at all, the helpline suggested sticky tape!!! But then advised that I try and find some way to seal it as tape was just a suggestions and then put it in the container and then the bags.

The courier had to be booked in advance but they couldn't cancel it after realising that I couldn't send it back unsealed. Let's not mention the risk that would be so courier service turned up to collect nothing, I was the 3rd person that morning without a test and it was only 8.15am

The system can't repeat the test as I am waiting on results?? And to do another test will be processed in 7-10 days as I am waiting for results. The lady on the phone did confirm that she had to follow a script even if it made no sense - I asked her to say yes or no.

Is it hard to do the self test? As in do you worry that you haven't done it properly?

BornOnThe4thJuly · 23/05/2020 23:36

I was worried I’d not done it properly, even though the solider was standing watching me next to the car. It did hurt a lot when I had to swab my nose, but I was still worried I’d not done it far enough up. I’ve also since read that you should twist it when it’s in your nose and throat, but he didn’t tell me to do that. My test was negative, but my only symptoms were persistent headache for days and loss of appetite.

Yes I’m worried I haven’t done it properly...although I did gag around 5 times and it hurt in my nose. It’s a really grim test, hoping the new one is rolled out quicklyz

covid.joinzoe.com/

dollface19 it's a research project. People enter their state of health each day and the project is tracking symptoms and predicting where outbreaks may happen.

You also get research updates which are quite interesting.

The questions asked change as the research moves on or the scientists need to gather data about particular health aspects.

Participants are asked to get tested from time to time. I actually have a home test to do today as I reported having a headache last week.

It's available for wales as well, and welsh government have been requesting on social media that everyone uses it. No idea about the other nations!
