We’ve stuck to guidelines as I’m vulnerable and dh and ds are key workers. Today, on one of our usual walks, groups of people walking abreast down the middle of woodland paths (we pulled off the path), kids running down the path close behind people, joggers taking the middle of the path then coming home across a bridge about 3 metres wide (which has arrows telling you which side to walk on) a couple stood on the wrong side having a good long stare over the water. People were coming over the right side and we were waiting to go over the opposite way. In the end, dh went across the right side and asked them what they were playing at. “Well , you can get by can’t you?” Not very safely. It’s like people think the virus has just vanished because lockdowns been lifted a bit. And walking down the small Main Street home is like hopscotch.Sorry, I’ve tried to be as positive as I can, but this level of dickheadedness just makes me thing the sacrifices we’ve all made will be for naught.

I agree with this - "Why should they be prisoners in their own homes so that other people can be inconsiderate arseholes?"

Went for a walk recently driving to a quiet location. Saw only 2 other people but they were determined to walk down the middle of the path - why? Bushes on both sides so couldnt get off the path but enough space to keep 2 metres apart if you walked down the sides. Just selfish - and yes dickheads.

If everyone who is at more than average risk stays home there will soon be no jobs for the thoughtless because the economy will suffer even more than it is now.

BackInTime · 16/05/2020 18:13

Blame Boris, the stay at home message is gone replaced by confusion and too many grey areas. To be fair to most young people,
they have been very respectful of the lockdown measures up to now and deserve credit for this. They are constantly being vilified as being clueless, self absorbed snowflakes but despite having their education, school, exams and social lives thrown into chaos they have by in large been a lot less hysterical and more understanding than lots of grown ups I know.

T0tallyFuckedUpFamily · 16/05/2020 18:15

T0tallyFuckedUpFamily I wonder what excuse you will find for your hatred of other people once lockdown is over?

Oh that hyperbole is hilarious. I love he company of other humans, unless they’re selfish dickheads that ignore social distancing rules. Am I supposed to actually like people that like that? Grin

PinkSpring · 16/05/2020 18:17

@Eyewhisker

Totally agree with you.

Oh that hyperbole is hilarious

But this isn't -

T0tallyFuckedUpFamily: Am I supposed to feel sorry for those that are deliberately ignoring the distancing advice and don’t give a fuck about others wellbeing. Fuck that! They can reap what they sow, literally.

No amount of emoji faces can disguise the hatred of other people in those words.

T0tallyFuckedUpFamily · 16/05/2020 18:21

Something like a hazmat suit or a giant bee costume perhaps.

Or the dickheads who think they’re too important to stay 2 metres away from others could wear a bright neon sign that says,”I don’t give a fuck about you, so I’ll walk as close as I like to you.”

LordOftheRingz · 16/05/2020 18:22

What was the point of lock-down: It was to flatten the curve, to protect the NHS and give time for critical bed capacity. Now its morphed into Keep the R down, keep the second wave. Goal posts are being moved and people know it. Some are saying now it's for a vaccine.

The lock down achieved its goal, if anyone thinks this behaviour was going to last long term, they have zero idea of human nature.

T0tallyFuckedUpFamily · 16/05/2020 18:24

No amount of emoji faces can disguise the hatred of other people in those words.

No hate, just disgust at their behaviour and again, why should I feel sorry for people who don’t care about others catching it? But if it makes you feel better to think that I hate humans, even though I’ve been asking others to show kindness and compassion to those who are vulnerable, fill yer boots. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Destroyedpeople · 16/05/2020 18:25

Fgs 'totallyfuckedupfamily' if I am 'vulnerable' then it is up to me to avoid these situations not expect people to jump out of my way with a sickening mix of 'entitlement' and general moistness

T0tallyFuckedUpFamily · 16/05/2020 18:26

The OP is trying to follow social distancing advice but others are ignoring it. Why is she and others who are vulnerable at fault?

Destroyedpeople · 16/05/2020 18:28

If she is that ''vulnerable' then she shouldn't be out should she?

Yep. I've been hidden in my home all day whilst it's beautiful outside, because a bunch of cunts have turned up from the city and have been swanning about like everything is fine.

The residents here are pissed off at the selfishness of people coming to rural areas and not giving a shit about social distancing. We have to continue to live here after you've turned up and infected people.

Well fucking done.

Oh the posters on here are just charm personified. You do not own the street, the countryside or the beaches

Exactly, so why are vulnerable people being told to stay home, instead of inconsiderate and selfish people keeping to the 2 metres advice? If they did that, then everyone would be happy. I’m aware there may be paths that are too narrow, but that’s not what the OP was complaining about.

The sooner we reduce infection rates, the sooner our young people can get on with their lives with some semblance of normality.

My DD is one of the youngsters being impacted, but that doesn't somehow equate to her suddenly becoming incapable of extending basic courtesy and consideration to other people. Confused

I might be digressing but as a significant majority of young people have not been taught manners or how to behave in public for years it's a bit of a stretch to suddenly expect it now.
