This! This needs circulating widely to try reduce the fear everyone has been whipped up into!

AnneLovesGilbert · 14/05/2020 22:35

He’s great.

Bigfishylittlefishy · 14/05/2020 22:37

Really like him, I think he’s very trustworthy.
He is having a meeting tomorrow with teaching unions to try and ease their fears.

GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat · 14/05/2020 22:40

I genuinely feel better when he tells me something. Like the same sentence from anyone else just wouldn’t have the same effect.

baldisbeautiful · 14/05/2020 22:44

Wish there was a like button on here as I'd be pressing it now Smile

NotYourHolidayDick · 14/05/2020 22:46

I love him. Like, lots.

What a wonderful man.

Goatymcgoaty · 14/05/2020 22:47

I’ve watched the whole lecture, really balanced and much better than any tabloid frenzy. He’s the unexpected star of all this.

Bunnybigears · 14/05/2020 22:47

When he says things I believe him, he would make a cert good politician but I am very glad he isnt one!

CuppaZa · 14/05/2020 22:49

I really do like him too.

MindfullWWer · 14/05/2020 22:50

I agree he is such an unassuming star of this (shit) show. He has my respect. 👍

FlibbertyGiblets · 14/05/2020 22:52

He is ace.

MindfullWWer · 14/05/2020 22:53

Chris Whitty Rocks!!!

SoMuchToBits · 14/05/2020 22:56

A sensible person.

Teddypops · 14/05/2020 22:56

I hope he's right!

PerkingFaintly · 14/05/2020 22:57

You can watch the whole lecture here:

www.gresham.ac.uk/lectures-and-events/covid-19

It's over an hour, but really watchable and answers a lot of questions I've seen come up on these boards. (It was given on 20 April 2020, and it opens with him saying he expects it will need updating as knowledge moves on.)

Cheekychops73 · 14/05/2020 22:57

I am going to watch the full lecture later have seen little clips and it looks really interesting. He's knowledgeable, straight to the point, doesn't use emotive language and is honest. The man is just fab I'm a little bit in love with him and his calmness.

TokyoSushi · 14/05/2020 22:58

He's great, I feel like he'll tell you the truth and you can be confident in what he's saying!

roses2 · 14/05/2020 23:01

Poor guy looks exhausted, look at those eyes!

Bleepbloopblarp · 14/05/2020 23:03

I find him very reassuring. He could just be talking absolute shit to calm the masses of course but he does make me feel better!

frumpety · 14/05/2020 23:04

Does it say when he actually said this ? It is obviously cut from a longer briefing and the fact that it has Covid 19 save our rights UK at the top is interesting.
Everything he is saying in this piece was also true before lockdown and he was involved in the process of lockdown, so he must have believed that that was the right course of action to follow.

ChrissieKeller61 · 14/05/2020 23:04

🐑

GymSloth · 14/05/2020 23:04

Yes, I love him too.

He comes across so well in the briefings. He is calm, measured, clearly very intelligent and he actually answers the questions! I'm impressed that he performs so much better than the politicians, whose actual job it is...

mooshie06 · 14/05/2020 23:05

Totally love this man, honest, reassuring, no agenda.....he genuinely makes me feel better and as above, this really ought to be seen by everyone as it really dampens down the fear the media have drilled home to us

frumpety · 14/05/2020 23:05

Cross posted with PerkingFaintly , thank you for the link Smile

bridgetreilly · 14/05/2020 23:08

We already knew all this, though. I genuinely don't understand why people have got into this WE'RE ALL DOOMED frenzy.
