Best supermarket you have been to in the pandemic

Thought I would give some praise to the supermarkets that are all working so hard to make sure we can all eat!

Best by far in my area has been Tesco! Still have queueing systems in place only allowing certain amounts in the shop, one way system and also the only supermarket iv seen constantly disinfecting the trolleys!

👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 all round for tesco

In fact thinking about it, in Tescos the people who got closest to me were Tescos staff telling me off for not understanding their incomprehensible rules via some psychic means.

Really unpleasant experience, and I don't care if you are wearing a surgical mask I still don't want you in my face, thanks.

I agree with @MrsFezziwig that local store management makes a difference but in my experience Tesco was the worst by far with its one way system, I haven’t been back.

Sainsbury’s has been great for me as their NHS only slot coincided with my journey to work and as for a while I was the only one who could shop it was a Godsend. The queue is pretty well organised, it’s not too stress inside apart from the Soviet-style announcements.

Morrison’s scared me shitless the first time I went but I was being barked at by a man in a mask (I lip read) about where to put my trolley and who to unload it. I forced myself to go back because of the NHS discount and it was better as I understand the rules now but the checkout queue down one fully stocked aisle is a bit bonkers.

Aldi is a bit of a free for all inside as the aisles are often blocked by pallets.

Waitrose is the best, organised queue, sanitised trolley, polite staff and seemed to be the most spacious. I was plucked out of the queue by a staff member last week when she saw my NHS lanyard (I’d gone on the way home from work) and sent me to the front of the queue Smile

I’m m on a day off today so queued but it moved quickly and was lovely inside, I wish I could afford to shop there all the time!

Our local Tesco has been so well organised that everyone has been priasing them on the local Facebook page. It isn't a perticularly large branch so they have had to be organised. The Tesco extra I went to the other week is so large that they haven't really needed to do anything. My nearest Lidl was excellent as well.

Sainsburys was much better the second time I went, but Morrisons has on the booby prize as the worst. Unfortunately Morrisons has a better choice and wider range than our local Tesco, so I do end up there now and again.

Waitrose, M&S and Iceland are the ones that I go to as they are all good, not to busy in the shop as they don’t let too many people in at once. DH went into Asda once and reckons he had to hold his breath in there as it was so busy, so I avoid there.

Lidl and my local coop.

Spar, and One Below, because there was a sense of normalcy which is great for those of us who have no option but to take our DC shopping.
