Just a Yes or No thread there are hundreds on the ins and outs of this.

This morning I read that Matt Hancock is claiming support for an extension is strong amongst the public but that’s not the impression I’m getting from social media

So, will you stick to the rules if lockdown in the UK is extended for another 3 weeks

Yes or No

Yes.

forrandomposts · 28/04/2020 11:16

No, I will give in and go see my boyfriend.

Sunnywaves · 28/04/2020 11:16

yes

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 28/04/2020 11:16

Yes but I wouldn't be happy. Worrying a lot about 4yo DS and socialisation at the moment. He hasn't played with another child in weeks.

joanneg36 · 28/04/2020 11:16

Yes. With the exception that I may 'accidentally' bump into a couple of my (younger and healthy) friends when out on walks and speak to them from a 2m plus distance. I strongly suspect quite a few people are doing this already, from things I have observed when I am walking...

And I don't actually know if it is even 'against the rules' properly. People in Spain and Italy even seemed to be doing this in supermarket queues.

pointythings · 28/04/2020 11:16

Yes

DogInATent · 28/04/2020 11:17

Yes.

(and as schools haven't been sent guidance on social distancing and have said they would require 3 weeks to plan and prepare once they're
told the rules they would need to work to it's very likely another three weeks is on the cards)

PeachMoon · 28/04/2020 11:17

Yes.

Boxachocs · 28/04/2020 11:17

Yes

TimeWastingButFun · 28/04/2020 11:17

Yes! I'm so paranoid about this bug. Bring on another 3 weeks - closer then to a vaccine.

IdblowJonSnow · 28/04/2020 11:18

Yes but might struggle beyond that.
Not looking for full normality but just something small to feel like have a life again!
Also not working so keen to find a new job.

MrsChoc · 28/04/2020 11:18

Yes.

But mumsnet, much like an individual’s social media impression is likely to be an echo chamber and not representative.

HarrietOh · 28/04/2020 11:18

Yes - now that I've relocated because I'd been on my own for 5 weeks.

Sparklingbrook · 28/04/2020 11:18

My nephew was born in January. I have seen him once. Sad
I long to see him and hate that this has all meant I have missed his first few months but I just have to stick with it until it’s safe to see him.

SonjaMorgan · 28/04/2020 11:19

Yes. I will not be a scapegoat for this ineffectual government. Matt Hancock can burn in hell.

Flaxmeadow · 28/04/2020 11:19

Yes

Nonnymum · 28/04/2020 11:19

Yes. Of course.

Qgardens · 28/04/2020 11:19

Honeyroar · 28/04/2020 11:20

123Dancewithme · 28/04/2020 11:20

Yes. There’s nothing to do anyway, even if I wanted to!

TeeBee · 28/04/2020 11:20

Yup

HellonHeels · 28/04/2020 11:20

Yes.

Frouby · 28/04/2020 11:21

Yes but like PP have said the actual rules.

So I will take the dog and kids out for a good walk once a day. From home though not driving.

We will go to our allotment for a couple of hours a day when weather permits.

And I will also now go to the ponies, Ive been paying full livery for the last 5 weeks but I miss them and we are allowed to go and I can socially distance at the yard easier than on our walk.

I will also shop once a week for essentials and a top up shop once a week for fresh milk and bread. I will visit the gardencentre if they reopen as well.

I won't see family and friends other than a brief coffee at the bottom of my mums garden when I drop her some shopping off. We are 4 meters apart, I take my own coffee in a travel mug. It's no risk to anyone at all.

The ridiculous MN rules are about competitive misery and suffering and I have no time for shit like that. I realise how lucky we have been during lockdown to have the allotment and now the ponies and a nice place to walk round from home. And have used them fully.

oldwhyno · 28/04/2020 11:21

Yes, I will read the rules, understand them, and apply a common sense interpretation if necessary balancing risk and cost.

eleventy3isthemagicnumber · 28/04/2020 11:22

Yes.
