Just a Yes or No thread there are hundreds on the ins and outs of this.

This morning I read that Matt Hancock is claiming support for an extension is strong amongst the public but that’s not the impression I’m getting from social media

So, will you stick to the rules if lockdown in the UK is extended for another 3 weeks

Yes or No

Yes

LochJessMonster · 28/04/2020 14:43

Yes and no

I would move in with my partner (we have both been self isolating individually so far and sticking to the rules) and self isolate with him. He only lives 5minutes down the road and the temptation to pack a bag and run down there to move in is overwhelming.

hoodathunkit · 28/04/2020 14:44

Of course I will

My health has suffered significantly from not being able to exercise in water. It makes no sense at all to waste all the sacrifices I have made so far by not social distancing if needed.

Having said that, I will exercise my ability to assess risk, so.....

having spent most of last Sunday in bed convinced I had covid due to burning lungs and terrible sinus problems, only to discover that it was neighbours smoking outside my window - if they do it again I will just go out to the nearby woods for most of the day, returning only to use my toilet. I can socially distance there and not expose my health to smoke

Puppybum · 28/04/2020 14:45

NO

GriseldaChop · 28/04/2020 14:48

Yes! 100%!

CoronaIsShit · 28/04/2020 14:49

Yes but only if the sun comes back.

Tartyflette · 28/04/2020 14:49

No.
Or probably not. Although i have been up to now.
The rules are rather more nuanced than some posters seem to wantbelieve and Mumsnet posters' purported adherence to them does not seem very representative of the population in general on this, IME.
NDN one side (tiny house) had three to four workmen in for five, yes five weeks installing a new bathroom and decorating. Finished Friday.
New NDNS on the other side have visitors (family I think) several times a week and are also in the process of pulling their entire small house apart.
Six vans are regularly parked outside as part of this and the workmen are not social distancing. They are mostly younger and clearly do not give a flying fart.

Yes. I still have COVID-19 symptoms, I've had them for 7 weeks now, so I've been stuck inside for a very long time now. Plus my DH has asthma, so we'll have to be careful anyway.

Jjjjjj1981 · 28/04/2020 14:51

Yes. Absolutely hate it though!

Jux · 28/04/2020 14:52

Yes. DD will too, but I think DH will do some sneaky driving about and also visit the woods for a walk even though they are a (very short) drive away. He won't go as far as the beach though.

CoronaIsShit · 28/04/2020 14:57

Anyway I hope the social distancing continues indefinitely because I hate people in general and the pig ignorance displayed in my area has validated that. I love that I can cross the road to avoid people and totally ignore them without being accused of being rude Grin.

TheHobbitMum · 28/04/2020 14:58

I'm having to shield so unfortunately yes Grin

Mostly but I'm already breaking the rules by going for a drive a couple of times a week so my toddler will nap. He has additional needs and it's the only restbite I get during the week when I otherwise have to give him my full attention from morning until night.

Pasghetti · 28/04/2020 15:03

Yes. People will adapt and find ways to make it bearable e.g. going out for walks and talking to friends through windows, using zoom to keep in touch. Walking helps me stay sane - this would be much harder in cities so govt needs to look at ways of helping people in densely populated urban areas.

Butterfly02 · 28/04/2020 15:05

Yes, we've come this far what's another few weeks in the scheme of things.

Qasd · 28/04/2020 15:08

Yes but only to the rules not the extra bits,so leaving the house every day for exercise, still going to shops to get what I need and a fair bit of what I want!! I never did the “lockdown extra” where we didn’t leave the house at all, and I think that is what is changing, lots of people who said they wouldn’t now are because they realise they really do need a walk or some wine or chocolate after five weeks inside.

Minty82 · 28/04/2020 15:11

Of course - I’m assuming it’ll be a lot longer than three more weeks!

GreenishPurple · 28/04/2020 15:16

I would but I would definitely moan about it

Thingybob · 28/04/2020 15:21

No

Tigertrees · 28/04/2020 15:26

Yes. I'm used to it now tbh

ItWasntMyFault · 28/04/2020 15:29

Yes

lubeybooby · 28/04/2020 15:29

Yes. It's important.

AnneOfCloves · 28/04/2020 15:32

Yes.

Because I don't kid myself I'm more special than anyone else.

Zofloramummy · 28/04/2020 15:34
