Just a Yes or No thread there are hundreds on the ins and outs of this.

This morning I read that Matt Hancock is claiming support for an extension is strong amongst the public but that’s not the impression I’m getting from social media

So, will you stick to the rules if lockdown in the UK is extended for another 3 weeks

Yes or No

Yes and happy to do it as long as it takes.

@RhymingRabbit3 some people aren’t lucky enough to see their parents after lockdown/ have their parents meet their children at all.

I can’t believe you’d risk their life just for your own wants.
Your child wouldn’t remember.

It is not worth the risk.

LoudBatPerson · 28/04/2020 12:52

Yes we will.

We are finding it easier than most though I suspect. we have been getting weekly food deliveries, I am still working full time (from home) so we are fine financially (my husbands job is gone, but we can manage fine on my wage) and we have a decent sized garden to exercise in and all have our own rooms in the house so can get space from one another.

We haven't actually left the house/garden since before the lockdown ( as one of us got ill a week before). We are being extra careful as three of us are in at risk groups, although not in the actual shielding group. We are able to isolate ourselves and don't mind it, our mindset is better safe than sorry.

It's been easy for us, but I wouldn't judge people who are finding it harder as a lot of people won't have the set up which allows a decent quality of life while observing the actual rules (I fully appreciate we have gone way above and beyond what is actually required to adhere to the rules).

Even if I said no I wouldn't have a choice. It's not like my company will open the office based on my recommendations

Going back to work would be the only reason I'd say no

IndecentFeminist · 28/04/2020 13:01

Yes, but I will be watching and waiting to hear what the end game is. I get they can't tell us when the exit strategy will start, but I think we need to know that they have one, and what it will be. The longer this goes on the more irreparable the damage.

Following the regs is easy enough for me though.

LadyPenelope68 · 28/04/2020 13:02

Yes, without a doubt.

4cats2kids · 28/04/2020 13:02

We all have to follow the rules, even if we don’t have much faith in the government, or any strategy will fail.

Write to your mp if you think the rules are misguided / are causing you emotional or financial issues.

However one of my DC went to his girlfriends home to lockdown and has said to me to me if there’s a third extension he will need to come home and I can hardly refuse him so in that sense no

Yes - I would have supported a much tougher lockdown. The UK is heading towards having one of the worse death rates and I wonder how much that is to do with people not following the lockdown rules and believing they are an exception. DH is a doctor working on a COVID ward. From what he describes it’s a horrible illness.
