Just a Yes or No thread there are hundreds on the ins and outs of this.

This morning I read that Matt Hancock is claiming support for an extension is strong amongst the public but that’s not the impression I’m getting from social media

So, will you stick to the rules if lockdown in the UK is extended for another 3 weeks

Yes or No

OP posts:
Beebeeboo2 · 28/04/2020 12:29

Yes

stuckindoors77 · 28/04/2020 12:32

Yes, I've mentally written off April and May anyway.

Wonkydonkey44 · 28/04/2020 12:33

Yes

RiftGibbon · 28/04/2020 12:33

Yes. A virus can't spread if it doesn't have a host.

DBML · 28/04/2020 12:33

No.

biglouis123 · 28/04/2020 12:34

Yes because I am shielding and I rarely go out anyway so here is a wonderful excuse to get on without interruptions like sales people, canvassers etc knocking at my door.

Lavenderpurple · 28/04/2020 12:34

Yes but I will moan.

MarginalGain · 28/04/2020 12:36

Nope.

ProfYaffle · 28/04/2020 12:36

"Yes but I will moan"

Lol - me too!

sunglasses123 · 28/04/2020 12:37

Puffin. I do wonder if that is what the government are going to announce. Some things will reopen. Garden centres definitely (I hope!).

Supermarket queuing is working well although the weather has been good and garden centres and DIY stores can do it easily. Not sure it would be so popular if it was raining!

And please - can someway be found to open barbers and hairdressers! I have cut my own fringe and it didnt go well. My DS hair is far too long, one has a job interview and my DH's hair just grows upwards!

cantory · 28/04/2020 12:37

Yes.
Lots of people moan about things OP, it doesn't mean they don't do them or don't realise why it is necessary. It is part of our national character to moan.
And I suspect those who say no already were not following the rules anyway.

ChippityDoDa · 28/04/2020 12:37

No

smilingthroughgrittedteeth · 28/04/2020 12:38

Yes and i actually think it should be strengthened.

I say that as someone whos partner is self employed in an industry that has shut down so we have no money coming in and very little savings

iVampire · 28/04/2020 12:39

Yes

Because I am in the ‘shield’ group so am banged up until late June regardless. I’d love to have the freedoms of ‘only’ being isolated!!

And so am very pleased to see just how many people will stay with lockdown, for now whilst the safest ways of easing restrictions is still ‘best guess’. Because I think taking a bit more time (as evidence is collected and assessed, especially from the lifting of lockdowns in European countries whose outbreaks are a couple of weeks ahead of ours) is going to be so very helpful for us in getting it right. And that’s the best way to ease lockdown for most, and perhaps even turn shield into lockdown

Kazzyhoward · 28/04/2020 12:40

Yes, and I'd love to see more policing/enforcement of the existing rules. Far too many people ignoring them, and the police just aren't showing any interest at all.

EricaNernie · 28/04/2020 12:40

i go to work.
i am not likely to go to a cinema, a pub, a restaurent.
i deliver dm shopping, aside from going into her house, i cannot see any rules i could break.

ifonly4 · 28/04/2020 12:42

Yes

Maxandezra · 28/04/2020 12:42

not in it's current form. No.

zen1 · 28/04/2020 12:42

Yes. Another 3 weeks isn’t that long.

mummytippy · 28/04/2020 12:44

Yes, it's proved to have been working.
Anything to help the NHS

Moonmelodies · 28/04/2020 12:44

Just to clarify (because I've lost track of time), when us the current lockdown due to end, and what actual date would a three week extension (as per the OP) take us to?

LiveatCityHall · 28/04/2020 12:46

Good grief yes I absolutely will and I'll probably stick to them for another 3 weeks after that. I absolutely support the decision. I am high risk and so is my DH so why on earth would I put either of us in harms way by NOT following the rules?

ErrolTheDragon · 28/04/2020 12:46

Yes.

It's easy for me - no little kids, I WFH anyway, we can get food delivered by local companies and we can access nice enough walks by foot or a 10 minute drive.

TheFairyCaravan · 28/04/2020 12:46

Yes. My DS2 is a nurse in A&E and I want to protect him for as long as possible. I've not seen either of my kids since February but we're just getting on with it.

We live rurally and shop online, I've been fortunate enough to get delivery slots every week bar one, and don't do top up shops, even when 4 adults lived here, so have only been out 3 times.

JeansNTees · 28/04/2020 12:47

Yes
