Just a Yes or No thread there are hundreds on the ins and outs of this.

This morning I read that Matt Hancock is claiming support for an extension is strong amongst the public but that’s not the impression I’m getting from social media

So, will you stick to the rules if lockdown in the UK is extended for another 3 weeks

Yes or No

I haven't been out at all since before lockdown started.

Not even for a walk with your son? Are you shielding?

loobyloo1234 · 28/04/2020 12:02

If they don't re-open anything, I dont understand how people can break the 'rules' anyway?

chocolatviennois · 28/04/2020 12:02

Yes

But government could allow a lot more places to open up with social distancing in place.

Yes, but I will be very unhappy if I can't see DP for another three weeks effectively another month. I work for the NHS so I will follow the rules but it's very hard being apart for so long.

LondonJax · 28/04/2020 12:03

Yes, of course. What's the point of the past few weeks if you're going to chuck it all away now?

And if we spike because of the idiots who decide three more weeks is just too much, we'll be locked down for even longer. And there'll be little sympathy from me.

Tulipstulips · 28/04/2020 12:03

Yes, I will. Though the only real hardship for our family so far is the lack of formal education and play dates for our son.

I’m hoping the rain will keep more people inside.

Butterymuffin · 28/04/2020 12:04

Yes.

3 weeks is absolutely doable. I can understand people freaking out about much longer periods. But we should be able to cope with 3 more weeks, honestly.

MissElizaBennett · 28/04/2020 12:04

Nope.

Devlesko · 28/04/2020 12:05

Yes.

womaninatightspot · 28/04/2020 12:05

Yes but I will be moaning to myself quietly and on here loudly. We had an appointment for a routine vaccination come through for next week so it looks like doctors are starting certain stuff up again.

IceCreamAndCandyfloss · 28/04/2020 12:05

risk vs reward

That’s fine if the risk is just to yourself. However it’s not with this virus, it’s all of us.

I find it strange that we have always had rules that people follow that don’t endanger health or life yet after a few weeks are happy to go against rules as they want to see friends or boyfriends etc.

Though people on my street seem to think it's one long holiday. Children from different houses all playing together in the street, no distancing (I hate children playing in the street anyway it's tacky and awful). People having family coming to visit and going in the house (not doing essential shopping for them either). People loudly admitting they went to a relatives house for a meal. This annoys me as we have stuck to the rules, my husband shops alone, we stay in as much as possible, our son is bored but we still keep him in. Yet others just don't care at all. Yes my son misses nursery. My husband needs to be back at work full time, I miss my nail and eyebrow appointments, my husband and son both need a hair cut, but we put up with it because we don't have a choice. Starting to wonder why should we bother if others can't be bothered anymore.

HandfulOfFlowers · 28/04/2020 12:08

I imagine very people will post on a public forum, albeit anonymous, that they are planning on flouting the rules. Your question is biassed towards the answer "yes" so I wouldn't take this thread as an accurate barometer of sentiment.

Yes.

Everyone I know hates it. .......but supports it.

They're able to see the implications but also the long term gain of getting it done in one go. We're also mourning the loss of a very popular headteacher who died as a result of cobid at the start. We aren't seeing the flouting of the rules in parks and gardens here .........even the local busy bodies have nothing to report.
