Just a Yes or No thread there are hundreds on the ins and outs of this.

This morning I read that Matt Hancock is claiming support for an extension is strong amongst the public but that’s not the impression I’m getting from social media

So, will you stick to the rules if lockdown in the UK is extended for another 3 weeks

Yes or No

Yes.

Fairylillie · 28/04/2020 11:49

Yes because I don't want myself or my family to get the virus.

Sparklingbrook · 28/04/2020 11:49

Quite agree @Kazzyhoward, I have always hated shaking hands and people breathing down my neck in queues. Hopefully all this will make the huggers and close talkers aware of what they do and back off.

ThisGunsForHire · 28/04/2020 11:49

Yes

LuckyMarmiteLover · 28/04/2020 11:50

Yes

Ariela · 28/04/2020 11:51

Yes.
It's raining today. First day we have had almost no people walk down the road other than doggie 'regulars'.

I think the wetter weather will help keep people in. Weekend was far too busy.

Underhisi · 28/04/2020 11:51

Yes we will follow the rule of only leaving home with reasonable excuse but will not put ds's mental health at risk by sticking to the 'rulez is rulez' followers idea of what the guidelines mean.

Chloemol · 28/04/2020 11:52

Yes

MotheringShites · 28/04/2020 11:52

No.

I will be keeping them on the whole but will start to apply common sense rather than blindly follow.

I have already had a drink in the garden with my best friend who is having a seriously bad time. Kept distant, no hugging but still a rule breach. There are many risks to some that are greater than the virus.

WhyCantIThinkOfAGoodOne · 28/04/2020 11:52

YES

PerplexingWords · 28/04/2020 11:52

Yes, but I am due to go and visit family (a few hundred miles away) at the end of July, and if things are still tight then, I currently feel tempted to breach. They are not in Cornwall, where I know we would not be welcome!

dazzlinghaze · 28/04/2020 11:53

No. I'll be going to see my parents and my sister.

I'd imagine a lot of people think similarly but won't admit it on MN.

Arnoldthecat · 28/04/2020 11:53

The 2m rule is BS anyway and i saw a recent article that said the Government punted this but it was totally arbitrary. If a speck of dust can float on the air and be carried with convection currents and the breeze, then surely so can virus particles which are so much smaller than a speck of dust. Again, we are told that virus landing on hard surfaces can be viable for X number of hours so my airborne virus particles are surely viable too?

The risk will be magnified in an enclosed space where there are no/low air currents eg supermarkets, offices, small stores, public transport carriages.

Anotheruser02 · 28/04/2020 11:54

Yes. It's easy for me as I've been furloughed, I've lost the equivalent of my leisure budget but don't need one at home. I can totally understand why it would be more difficult or panic enducucing for others.

thecatsthecats · 28/04/2020 11:55

Yes.

(verboten longer answer...

I was sick with corona for the middle part of the present lockdown, so actually a few more weeks to get on my feet would be handy. I'm hoping for an ease of restrictions that will allow me, with judgement, to visit my incredibly healthy 70+ mum (and 65yo dad), who live in incredibly remote isolation. I would be happy to limit myself before and after to do this - e.g. stay totally in the house before and after.)

hanahsaunt · 28/04/2020 11:55

Yes

bathsh3ba · 28/04/2020 11:56

Assuming they don't add further restrictions, yes but with much grumbling. If it goes on longer than another 3 weeks with no 'refining', I don't know.

Stephie0x3 · 28/04/2020 11:56

As much as I can’t wait to be back to normal and for everything to be okay- absolutely yes because it’s the only way that’s ever going to happen

whatistheworld · 28/04/2020 11:56

it needs to be lockdown properly or nothing! i am pleased it is raining today as it means i can safely walk the dog without fields being full of people exercising! no comprehension of 2 m even when i move out of the way into a bush, a jogger will run past almost touching me despite having 10 m to jog past in! its actually a joke.

Connie222 · 28/04/2020 11:56

Yes.

And fwiw, me and my immediate family will be sticking to it a lot longer even if things are lifted. I’m pregnant, due in August and taking no chances. We won’t be going out or seeing anyone for a long while yet.

Notrightbutok · 28/04/2020 11:58

No. I am a key worker and so is DP(Non NHS) . We have to mix with people everyday and it's not always possible to keep to 2m but we can't see each other. All work and no quality time with DP, life is shit enough without being denied time with him.

Elsa8 · 28/04/2020 11:59

Yes. Not worth the risk IMO.

happymummy12345 · 28/04/2020 11:59

Yes. I haven't been out at all since before lockdown started. Tbh I never really go anywhere anyway so it's not any different for me. (Only places I used to go were my sons nursery on Tuesdays and Thursdays and my nail and eyebrow appointment every fortnight. Now and then I'd go shopping with my husband).

EnlightenedOwl · 28/04/2020 12:01

No enough now

Youngatheart00 · 28/04/2020 12:01
