Is lockdown making anyone else broody??

I think it's because everyone's home. I'm a SAHM with 3dc so it's nice having the company and help.

Is it just me??

Definitely just you. I have 5 kids. I'd rather remove my own uterus than have another Grin

Krazykitty · 25/04/2020 13:43

God no way, definitely not!

HairyFloppins · 25/04/2020 13:44

Definitely not!

TokyoSushi · 25/04/2020 13:44

Yes! My youngest DC is 6 and I was absolutely certain I didn't want any more DC, DH felt the same.

I've had lots of dreams about being pregnant over the last few weeks and when I mentioned it to DH who usually agrees with me and says 'Oh God no!' He actually said 'it would be fine, we'd manage!'

I'm sure once I can go out and about again and rediscover my freedom I'll get over it, I'd be 41 by the time it would even be born.

So baby Nel will most likely never be - I've named her and everything!

LisaSimpsonsbff · 25/04/2020 13:45

I was already broody for our second, was just about to start trying and now we've put it off until at least the summer, in the hope that the situation will be a bit clearer then and it won't feel as irresponsible to TTC. I think it's the right, logical decision but I am finding it much harder than I expected - I thought I wasn't that desperate for a second baby - every time I look at DS I think how much I'd like another and I had a little selfish, self-indulgent cry yesterday because I was pretty certain I was ovulating and it felt like a waste of what could have been an attempt.

MrsL2016 · 25/04/2020 13:45

Absolutely not. One 2 yr old here who is driving me up the wall.

Lemonysherbet · 25/04/2020 13:46

Hell yes. But I'm 35 weeks pregnant so it doesn't count 😂

Terralee · 25/04/2020 13:48

No. I was broody even though I'm childless & sadly can't have a baby probably ever... but having 2 small lively noisy & frustrated little boys on lockdown on the other side of a paper thin party wall / in the next door garden is definitely acting as the best ever contraceptive!!

OwlBasket · 25/04/2020 13:50

Nope. I’m actively grateful not to be pregnant, or have babies or small children in the house at this time.

Selfsettling3 · 25/04/2020 13:52

God no. I had made the decision just before lockdown that I was done. My youngest is 9 months so I still have a baby.

TruffleShuffles · 25/04/2020 13:53

The complete opposite, I spend most of my day fantasising about what lockdown would be like without a child to be honest.

PickledLilly · 25/04/2020 13:54

Hell no.

PumpkinP · 25/04/2020 13:59

Wow how can this situation make someone want to have another baby Confused

TheShapeJaper · 25/04/2020 14:07

OMG no 😂

EC22 · 25/04/2020 14:10

I want a puppy!
A baby, not so much.

jessy2018 · 25/04/2020 14:10

Yes! I think it’s all the time at home reminds me of when my daughter was a teeny tiny newborn and we were all at home together ! I’d love another !

Bingeslayer · 25/04/2020 14:11

Nope,,not in the least Grin14 and 7 or old are enough work.

H1978 · 25/04/2020 14:12

Noooooo totally the opposite 😆

Wanderlust21 · 25/04/2020 14:12

Hell no.

I dont think I'd let a partner near me rn. You dont know what the health service will be like in 9 months time.

Yes, which is why I'm not acting on my broodiness, but not acting on it doesn't make it go away!

Wanderlust21 · 25/04/2020 14:23

Watch some childbirth videos. It'll soon go away then lol.

catsandlavender · 25/04/2020 14:25

Oh my GOD no.

Happymum12345 · 25/04/2020 14:29

Yes! I never thought I would be broody again, but for some unknown reason I would love another baby!

MRex · 25/04/2020 14:30

Yes, but I get broody from time to time anyway, but I see how jealous DS is of those with siblings and he asks about babies now. Definitely can't be done, I am on hold for a CT scan and getting too old, and DH only wants one. I always said I only wanted one, but DS is so lovely I wish I could have one more.

teapotstorm · 25/04/2020 14:31

It’s doing the opposite for me- I think it’s bringing back the ‘trapped’ feeling you get sometimes with a young baby and the limited freedom.
