I think we have possibly had it too. I was on the fence until my son got a covid toe!!

But I long for the antibody test so we can be sure.

Great news about vaccine. Preying it continues to be positive

I've been having strange dreams, anyone else?

Last night it was about hiking in the Scottish Highlands, lost and then coming across some kind of sealed pod to sleep in, out of the rain (had seen the same type of shelter used in Holland for cafes yesterday)

Dh had an odd dream about being kept a slave as well.

On the NC relatives, yes I am with my elderly mum, been tricky, I sent some shopping to her but not got in contact...not easy is it with the reminders to check on relatives etc. Anyway.

Spudlet · 16/05/2020 08:36

I’ve been having some very vivid dreams too, some quite disturbing though I tend to forget the details pretty quickly once I wake up. But a lot of mine have involved imprisonment in some way, or searching for things and not being able to find them.

Callybrid · 16/05/2020 12:44

Yes to strange dreams. Most recent one I was a drug dealer and desperately trying to saw things up around the house to hide my stash... Grin

Been doing some decluttering recently (I find it counters the never ending tidying and cleaning nicely because there’s actual progress not just that Sisyphus pushing the rock feeling...) and found some diaries from around ‘03/‘04 - my goodness I had strange dreams back then. I have a whole notebook of them, lots of violence and horror and hiding and so on... had forgotten all that.

Also lots of reference to the Iraq war then - was in London and going on lots of Stop The War marches. I remember going out a lot then and feeling like doom and Armageddon was imminent so what else could I do but drink and dance (was young!)... Shame we have no outlet to dance and hide out from reality like that now (well the closest I get is box sets I guess Grin )

How’s everyone anyway? It’s windy and cold up here but sunny so I’m going to drag everyone off screens in a while and try and walk somewhere we haven’t walked before. Just desperate for any kind of novelty at the moment.

Orangeblossom78 · 16/05/2020 13:01

"I’m going to drag everyone off screens in a while and try and walk somewhere we haven’t walked before"

I know exactly this feeling.

HelloMist · 16/05/2020 13:49

Just thought I'd share something I've been enjoying in lockdown.

@VirtualAstro on Twitter (they have a Facebook page too, type the same name) lists times and directions to watch Starlink passes (the groups of satellites), shooting stars, comets and other sights in the night sky! Last night we saw the ISS pass over, very bright plus a bonus shooting star that appeared to cross its path. Star

Another couple of nights I sat on a garden lounger and stared up at the stars to watch things. I had mixed success but it was calming and beautiful anyway. The sky is less polluted right now so you can see a lot unless it's cloudy.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 16/05/2020 17:05

That's a brilliant idea. Thanks (and copied).

Asgoodasarest · 17/05/2020 13:33

How is everyone? I’m off for a walk in a bit, glorious sunshine here. Had a really lazy morning and even read some of my book!

Orangeblossom78 · 17/05/2020 15:31

It is a gorgeous day here today as well. We have had some amazing weather recently haven't we overall. I will kind of miss the Spring blossom etc going as it has been so lovely this year.

Going for a walk shortly to try and give my Fitbit some steps. When it started praising me the other day for taking steps at all I knew it was time to do something! Just keeping my aim low ish though, half an hour a day is fine for now

UpOnDown · 17/05/2020 15:32

I'm ok, got some sleep last night due to temazepam, but anxious about going for tomorrow's blood test.

A walk sounds good @Asgoodasarest Smile

Orangeblossom78 · 17/05/2020 15:34

I have got one of the Abbott antibody tests to do this week. I think we have had the virus at Feb half term when away in France

I have to try and get enough blood though which can be a problem so we'll see. If not they have said can have my money back. Then I have to take it to the PO delivery office before midday - all a bit stressful but fingers crossed get it done OK. If I have had it, so has DH, and maybe he can go back to work (had been given a text about staying in due to meds) it could mean freedom...

Callybrid · 17/05/2020 16:11

I’ve been following the antibody test threads with interest - let us know how yours turns out Orangeblossom. I’d love to know if DS had it when he was very ill with a cough early March but no good reason to justify the cost at the moment.

Well, we don’t have the sunshine up here although this week is supposed to get warmer and brighter. I had a little cry this morning - drove past DS’s school on the way to the shop and just really wanted to be dropping him at school and going for a coffee with a friend and having plans. DP and I are barely talking at the moment and it’s just wearing and a bit lonely.

I snuck some led tea lights into the trolley at the supermarket and planning to get the kids to make little faux lanterns somehow with old glass jars. DD was supposed to be on camp with school this week so I’m thinking one day we’ll stay up late with our lanterns outside and some midnight feast / campfire food and try to have a little camp style evening.

Orangeblossom78 · 17/05/2020 16:20

That reminds me of a lovely picture I saw of someone who had decorated their little courtyard garden with fairy lights during lockdown... candlelight is lovely.

i got some lovely aromatherapy bath oil the other week in Waitrose which has been a nice little treat...enjoy

Asgoodasarest · 17/05/2020 16:29

@Orangeblossom78 did you buy the test? This seems to have passed me by (avoiding lots of news and other threads) and I didn’t realise they were available.

Orangeblossom78 · 17/05/2020 16:40

It seems there are two - the Roche one mentioned upthread, and also an Abbott one which has a CE mark and accurate as well..

I got it online; Blue Horizons is the company I got it from. It cost £100 and if half price for NHS workers.

i know it may not tell us enough about future immunity but if it was positive at least I would know that was what we had in the past and that DH got through it ok. Also if I had it it is likely as we were all ill as a family we all had it too.

At the time it was not possible to have a covid test as you needed to have been to Italy and we had been to France. We travelled back at the same time as many many people from the Alps and all through France the main motorway services were totally packed and the ferry too so I think that might have been when we got it. Started symptoms about a week after.. but we'll see.

Orangeblossom78 · 17/05/2020 16:41

It comes in the post, you fill a little vial with a finger prick device (ouch) and then return it in the post.

Asgoodasarest · 17/05/2020 17:03

Thank you @Orangeblossom78 that’s interesting I totally missed all this! I hope you get an answer quickly.

Orangeblossom78 · 17/05/2020 17:05

Yes I'll let you know! Smile

AgentCooper · 17/05/2020 20:10

Raining here in Glasgow but me and DS got out for good puddle splash Smile then we made up really stupid words to the Star Wars theme tune and laughed a lot.

I posted in another thread about missing my parents and someone comes back to me to wave a finger and remind me to be grateful for them because they won’t be around forever! Um, ok. They’re younger and in better shape than half the folk I work with but on you go. And I’m grateful for them every day!

Me and DS are going to make rocky road tomorrow. He’s 2.5 and talking up a storm. He’s started saying ‘Mummy, you so lovely,’ but then he also says Honda Civics are lovely Grin

Orangeblossom78 · 18/05/2020 08:33

Good morning! Woken to birdsong today, lovely cooping pigeon on the windowsill! Going to try and wake up my increasingly vampire like teen soon to start their home schooling. They are getting quite a bit of work- will be glad of a break form that next week as it is 'half term' (hmm)

Well, I couldn't manage to get a blood sample for the virus test, so that is that. Pricked the finger but only managed a tiny drop. Going to try and see if they will do DH instead. At least do not need to rush it down to the main PO today before midday I suppose. I kind of think might just get the money back perhaps. It was quite expensive and who knows if it actually means people are immune?

Anyway hope you have an OK day today. It just keeps being sunny here. I have not known is so continuously sunny for such a long time. Even in summer it tends to build up and get humid after a few days, then turn to rain. Might drag them out for a picnic at lunchtime to break up the screen time. (work seems to be mainly online). and also thinking of printing the work as the Teams things just seems to be distracting with the teacher and pupil chat and comments.

It was actually easier before half term when it was a print out! Oh well. Fingers crossed for my youngest it is just this week now and then week off, then back int he classroom as I have filled in the form to say yes to going back 1 June (yr 6). His friend will be there as his mum is a key worker so been in all the time and looking forward to seeing his friend. they seem to be doing lots outside like den building so that will be nice.

Callybrid · 18/05/2020 12:44

Oh that is exciting knowing you’ll have some kind of quasi-normality with one of them in school in two weeks time. I’m in Scotland so we have no date for schools yet.

I hear you on Teams - I’m finding it really frustrating going in and out of channels and spending ages printing stuff, uploading stuff and DD needs constant reminders to get off the chat and just try to do some work!

The 4yo’s activity of the morning was baking so we have an orange and almond cake fresh out of the oven waiting for afternoon tea. SmileCake

Feeling not bad today over all; better than the last few days for sure. Hope you’re all having good Mondays.

Orangeblossom78 · 18/05/2020 20:45

Yes, it was better with a print out really, the teacher and pupil chat is getting distracting...baking sounds lovely.

i really want to just sack in the home schooling the rest of the week and take books to the park and a picnic but feel bad for the eldest who has lots of stuff to do. Then feel a bit guilty- I used to be a teacher myself as well!

But really, Year 6 would have just been doing SATs this week and then after that they don't do much really- I remember from the eldest being in that year.

Beginning to feel quite groundhog day-isn here, doing the work, dragging them out on a walk or something just to get out, dinner, TV, bed...

But it is the same for everyone I know.

purpleme12 · 18/05/2020 22:39

Awww are you sending yours?

I want to send mine but I'm not sure I dare with everything everyone's saying
And no one I know at her school is sending theirs!
If it was den building it does sound fun... I've not heard of that stuff at hers :-(
The whole keeping away from each other worries me too mine's year one

purpleme12 · 18/05/2020 22:40

(I mean I worry about the detrimental effect that will have on mine, the keeping away)
It sounds miserable
But will it still be in effect in September???
