@M0reGinPlease could you share what you disagree with? Of course if you feel better to delete then do what you feel is best for you. But maybe having a talk through it might make you feel better?

SpiritEssence · 02/05/2020 09:22

StCharlotte · 02/05/2020 09:29

Sorry to see you go @M0reGinPlease. Way back on the early threads you were one who helped get me through the initial "fear" so thank you for that x

I was going to say this as well @Asgoodasarest

@M0reGinPlease

Sorry to see you go M0reGinPlease You'll be missed. Come back anytime.

It's a lovely day here. I've had such a horribly bumpy week so it's a relief to nearly be through it. We have lovely weather here and that is helping my mood a lot too.

If you haven't seen the news, Singapore had experienced a slight rise in cases for easing restrictions but that's now settling and so they're lifting them further. It had made me panic there was a rise but now I think it just makes sense. I think that just will happen to every country but it doesn't necessarily mean much. Things will then even out again. It's helped me to think like that, anyway.

Morning all. I’m glad to see the Excel Nightingale hospital is being wound down and wasn’t ever in as much demand as feared.

Today will be a relaxed day for us. Lots of family games. The kids seem a bit freaked out by our constant tag teaming of work / childcare so are going to try and all be together for a bit.

captainoftheshipwreck · 02/05/2020 11:06

Morning everyone - the sun is shining here and apparently tomorrow is National Dawn Chorus Day, 🐦 which my DS will obviously miss as on weekends he never emerges until the afternoon. I managed to stay away from the Daily Mail yesterday and felt much better for it.

Spudlet · 02/05/2020 12:04

Morning (actually afternoon, just!) all. Woke up feeling really fed up this morning, for no particular reason, it was just grey skies and a grey sort of feeling for me. But just back from a run, I ditched the training plan and just ran where my feet wanted to go, which was nice, and now the sun is peeping out and I feel much better. DS is being Mr Charming and DH is feeling relaxed so that’s a big help too.

Just chugging on through, as ever!

riotlady · 02/05/2020 19:16

Hi everyone :) have had a really anxious and down couple of days (not helped by PMS!) but I’m starting to feel a bit better

Some nice things-

-My best friend (who is a nurse and caring for her mum who has Alzheimer’s, so pretty busy!) popped a card and a friendship bracelet through my letter box

  • I’ve finished week 5 of couch to 5k, which means I can run for 20 minutes without stopping
-DD, who has seemingly been surviving on strawberries and rage, ate pasta and broccoli today!
  • We’ve discovered a local family Italian that is delivering and it’s AMAZING.
  • It was my aunts birthday today so DD and I made her a card and walked over and posted it and waved to my grandma from the end of the drive
Callybrid · 02/05/2020 20:38

That is a nice list riotlady! Congrats on the running - I managed to get to about day 3 when I tried c25k. Hope you continue to feel better. Hormones really can throw a spanner in the works and make things worse - I don’t tend to get particularly strong PMS but I’ve been getting a new mid-cycle insomnia for the last few months, which is a pain.

I am really glad DS and I got out for a long walk today - I haven’t properly walked in weeks and once I start walking up hills and feel the stretch in my calves it’s kind of like a hunger-being-satisfied type of feeling.

Spudlet · 02/05/2020 20:42

Well done @riotlady! Week 5 is a toughy, I remember being shattered after that one. But before you know it you’ll be regarding a 5k as a relatively short run, and then wondering how on earth that happened Grin

riotlady · 02/05/2020 21:36

Thanks guys :) I hope so @Spudlet!

Had a very quiet day except was dozing on the sofa when got woken by Dh in the other room exclaiming because there was a power cut. Then the landline rang ten seconds later and I answered it and there was a recorded message saying “this is national power” or something and then said something like “there is an unplanned power cut in your area. Press 1 for more information blah de blah” Confused Never had that before! Anyway, the power came back 2 minutes later.

Hello,

I’ve been AWOL for a few days, no good reason, I’ve just been feeling a bit Meh about some work stuff that’s grumbling on

Yesterday, I gave myself a talking to, set about baking and delivered afternoon tea to some local vulnerables. It was very well received. I took my mum to deliver one to her friend, who’s poorly and they had a socially distanced 10 min chat ((shh, don’t tell the fun police). I find that when I do nice things for people, it stops me navel gazing so much

DD made the scones, I wasn’t allowed to help her, except for the oven bit

I’ve also ordered some herbal calming stuff for DPony, who has a bit of...spring fever, so hopefully I can get back on her soon

In other good news, a friend was being seconded to go and do covid stuff, but with the fall in hospital admissions, they don’t want her and one of our nurses, who’s really in the thick of it has just posted a really positive message on Facebook about the situation at the hospital and how he can see the light at the end of the tunnel. I trust him to tell the truth. (We’re in a COVID hot spot too()

@Millie2013 Spring fever...nice green grass, nice green poops, and the wind up their tails. I remember some extremely well scoring rides at this time of year 🙈 Hope dpony calms down again soon!

Had a rough night last night, took a long time to get to sleep for some reason so a bit tired today. However someone in the village is dealing in strong white bread flour so I have a kilo earmarked to be collected later, which is very exciting - I’ve only been able to get wholemeal bread flour and consequently our homemade bread has been delicious, but dense Blush Hoping a half and half flour mixture might rise a bit better 🤞🍞

Arcadia · 03/05/2020 09:13

@Millie2013 that tea looks delicious!
I went and had a chat with my mum in her garden yesterday. It was absolutely lovely and so nice to talk to her face to face, she's alone but coping really well in fact saying she loves isolation!

Whoops wrong thread will report Blush

VoyageInTheDark · 03/05/2020 11:07

That afternoon tea looks delicious! That's one thing I'd love delivered but I'm coeliac so haven't found anyone doing a gluten free one

Noooblerooble · 03/05/2020 11:23

Morning everyone!

I feel properly myself today. Much less anxious. I can't say what's shifted but I think it's seeing various countries move forward in positive ways. I was so thrilled to see fertility treatment is resuming. I know that will make a huge difference to some. I don't think they'd be doing this if we weren't getting on top of things. I look back to the intense fear of a few weeks ago and that seems so long ago. I'm sure we still have challenges ahead but it just doesn't all feel so bleak.

Arcadia · 03/05/2020 11:25

Hooray! DH just back from Homebase with plants including two types of mint which surely even I can't kill?!

captainoftheshipwreck · 03/05/2020 11:27

Noooblerooble Glad you're feeling better today - it's weird how some days I feel ok and other days I feel majorly anxious from the start! Wishing everyone a good day🌷

Arcadia · 03/05/2020 11:48

@Noooblerooble great to hear!
I'm feeling pretty positive too, feel like things are generally going in the right direction.
I have a vague background feeling my mood could tip downwards but focussing on doing practical stuff helps.
