Sainsburys app crashed at checkout

So I managed to get a Sainsbos delivery slot, I have a health condition so must be on their list now. Had a full weekly slot plus bits for two different elderly friends/neighbours. I went to check out with 5 mins before the cut-off time but the app has crashed so i couldn’t complete the checkout process. I’ve been on hold to sainsburys for 30 mins and my call has cut to a weird ring tone. I’m not sure whether to stay on the line or if they’ve basically cut me off. Anyone had this happen?

My baby will be up in the night and I really need to go to bed but also need to sort this out. Will they allow me to check out tomorrow instead? I have an evening slot for tomorrow.

So sorry but no. You need to check out by 11pm that day.

It’s best to check out as soon as you get the slot just to reserve it and you can then go back and edit.

I mean 11pm the day before the delivery.

If you checked out a previous version of your shop you’ll get that.

Eska the slot is reserved and i had already checked-out some items, about 1/4 of it but was unable to update as it crashed before 11 pm.

I assume op means she couldn't checkout on the amends. This happened to me with ASDA for my Christmas shop. Nothing that could be done then - even phoning and speaking to them they could get into the order to amend it. It will be locked now with the original order checked out, which is super annoying.

I’m confused, what do you mean, so you had already checked out but wanted to amend / add more things but didn’t check out I no time? If that’s the case then your original shop will be the shop you and no you won’t be able to add things. Sadly this happened to me with my Tesco’s slot today, forgot to add things and it was too late before I realised.

You will get the previous version of your shop from before you checked out. Unfortunately it’s best not to leave it so late to finalise it.

If it’s still stuck restart your phone?

No i was within time pumpkin, the app has frozen during the checkout process, it says it’s “updating details”

If it’s gone through you’ll get a confirmation email.

I’ve had problems with the app before and have gone to my email and found confirmation from Sainsbury’s in there despite the app not showing checked out.

I’ve never had this with Tesco online, with sainsburys i mainly shop in store. Am kicking myself for not doing interim check-outs 😟

We check out every time we update - I know that’s not much help with this one but it’s worth it for the future. You never know what might happen to delay you and you never want to rely on it working last minute!

Checked email, sadly nothing from today. FFS I haven’t even got bread and milk in my original order, just a whole load of random stuff including printer paper and 4 packs of blimin tena lady for a neighbour!

I would advise you to build your next shop now as much as you can, so you can check out a reasonably complete order as soon as you reserve another slot.

PS the email may yet come through! It can take a little time.

Have you been onto the website, logged into your account and checked what’s showing on the latest version of your order? If not do that now!

Thanks for your advice everyone. Not a lot I can do now, it’s late enough so all I can do is leave the app open and hope for a miracle. Will try and call them in the morning, if I can get through.

I’m gutted, this is the second time this has happened to me in the last few weeks, was just double checking the basket on a big online order with a local food supplier when their website closed for maintenance (for the whole day) and deleted the entire contents of my basket 🤦🏻‍♀️

Oh no, really sorry to hear it.

Get building your next shop now so it’s all ready. If you’re on the vulnerable list then you should be able to see more slots soon.

Sainsbury's often crashes during the just before 11pm rush to amend. If you're lucky you get the updated email and it's gone through anyway, otherwise you'll get what was in the order when you last checked it out. Really unwise to leave it so close to the cut off at the moment I think (I've learned the hard way)
