Why don't some of you clap?

I wear a dressing gown most days in the house over my clothes. And currently I'm wearing joggers and t-shirts all day which is more or less pjs

Ginfordinner · 16/04/2020 17:40

I get dressed every day. I would feel like an unmotivated, lazy skank if I didn't.

I only stay in my nightie (I'm too hot in PJs) if I am ill.

GoldenKelpie · 16/04/2020 17:40

I haven't worn a bra since lockdown #boobfreedom but not gone as far as wearing pjs during the day. Am looking forward to our street's weekly clap, wave and shouted chat tonight...

BackforGood · 16/04/2020 17:42

HTH = Hope that helps

Can I ask why you are in your PJs by 6pm every day ?
Genuinely interested.
To me, PJs are for sleeping in.
I might have a lie-in one morning and not have got out of them until later than a working day, but why would you change into them at 6pm ? Confused

Toomboom · 16/04/2020 17:42

Yes!

Ginfordinner · 16/04/2020 17:43

I don't understand the MN obsession with wearing pyjamas TBH.

I am not the most sartorial dresser, but I can't bear to be in night clothes until I actually go to bed.

okiedokieme · 16/04/2020 17:43

It's at 8pm, why would an adult be in pj's (unless a shift worker).

Toomboom · 16/04/2020 17:43

@BackforGood I am also in PJ's by 6 pm at the latest. I find them much more comfortable and love to relax after 6 so PJ's it is.

ImfinallyaMummy
There was at least threads last weeks Like Clapping please make it stop!!
Pages of people moaning about how terrible it is to clap for the NHS and the other people who are keeping this country going.

Personally I will be clapping with the rest of my Street in my PJs and I will donate again on my phone.

Ginfordinner · 16/04/2020 17:44

My daytime clothes are comfortable.

MrJollyLivesNextDoor · 16/04/2020 17:45

I will be wearing my regular day clothes for not clapping

KnobwithaK · 16/04/2020 17:45

Oh crap, I'd forgotten this was tonight..

I'll be dressed (in trackies/sweatshirt.. not that you'd really be able to tell the difference between that and my PJs when I'm clapping out of the window).

ohthepigeons · 16/04/2020 17:45

I'm in comfy clothes/loungewear all day long at the moment. I'll be clapping in them.

ImfinallyaMummy · 16/04/2020 17:47

I bath my toddler then get changed with him at 6pm. But I don't sleep in my pjs so probably makes even less sense to some! 🤷🏻‍♀️

I've been changing afterwards. Our immediate neighbours have all seen eachother in our pjs, but as 80% in the road are standing on the pavement and waving up and down the street, I don't want to be the only one in pjs.

Peppafrig · 16/04/2020 17:50

People who can't understand why an adult world be in pjs by 8. It makes sense to get changed out of day clothes after having a shower after work . Instead of putting on more day clothes and then changing again into Pjs.

Ginfordinner · 16/04/2020 17:54

I don't shower after work. I don't work in a hospital or healthcare environment. When the evenings are light it just feels wrong to wear PJs.

goldpartyhat · 16/04/2020 17:55

Pj's

BrandoraPaithwaite · 16/04/2020 17:55

@FrLukeDuke Grin Actual LOL

LizzieMacQueen · 16/04/2020 17:56

I don't put pyjamas on until bedtime. Anyway, at 8 o'clock I'll be starting my daily walk. I much prefer to walk at this later time. I can watch the sunset.

MrsApplepants · 16/04/2020 17:56

I don’t wear nightwear in the daytime and I don’t clap either.

Northernsoullover · 16/04/2020 17:58

I wear a dressing gown to keep warm over my day clothes so I am clap in my dressing gown. I do get dressed though. Of sorts.

Devlesko · 16/04/2020 17:58

No, we don't clap, I don't see the point tbh.
It's usually when we are having our tea anyway.
If we lived near a hospital or had any HCP's living in the street we'd probably do it.

BrandoraPaithwaite · 16/04/2020 17:58

HTH means Hope That Helps, but sarcastically like you were an idiot to have asked. I prefer to read it as "Hear This Harumphing"
