What is your alternative lockdown Easter dinner?

I usually do a Sunday Roast but just don't have the ingredients or means to get them this year.we're having Quorn spag bol and garlic bread.

Bit sad. Really fancy a roast!

Pizza and chips

We usually have a big family get together with a roast, egg hunt, egg and spoon race and loads of booze.

This year is like anti Easter

Think it's Curry tonight. I actually have everything for a roast, but the joint has a longer use by date so having that later in the week and using the chicken that has earlier date first.

We're having roast chicken. We dont really regard Easter as a big occasion anyway so it's not much different from previous years

I'm not religious but the kids like the chooks and eggs and things.

Feeling a bit fed up today.

I think pasta bake as we're really low on food. Food shop tomorrow.

DDs at her dad's, I've got some nice cheeses, Jacobs cracker selection pack, nice ham and salad.

Roast turkey. Kids did Easter egg hunt this morning. No alternative was needed, only difference is that family aren’t with us but shops have all you need whether you do that in person or online.

Pretty sure we could have got lamb if we'd wanted to - supermarkets are pretty well stocked round here. We don't make a big thing about Easter generally, just give the dc eggs. We're having toad in the hole tonight, followed by homemade rhubarb crumble.

Pizza here, mine has spinach and ricotta. Will have a nice salad too.

I completely forgot it was Easter coming up this weekend and so it'll just be the usual salad!

We haven't had to look for alternatives either. Meat, potatoes and veg are all readily available around here.

We ate our way through a whole leg of lamb between two of us over a week and half, a couple of weeks ago (it was the only fresh meat that was available when we last went shopping 3+ weeks ago), and I didn’t think i would be able to eat it again for quite a while.

As it turns out, I do fancy lamb today! Would have done it with plenty of garlic and rosemary, anchovies and roasted butternut squash on the side, I think. With buttered green beans or cabbage.

We’re having tarragon and orange chicken with carrots, leeks and some kind of greens (don’t know what it is because we got in a farm veg box) with rice.

We are having lamb but it’s one of those easy cook cheating joints in the foil tray. Veggies are slim pickings too as I only have carrots and potatoes.
We are shielding in our house so have to make do with what we can get. I still feel fortunate though - we all got chocolate eggs and we managed a small gift for the four year old so it’s all good.

Loads round here although still short of actual eggs. The meat eaters are having a slow roast topside of beef, roasties, Yorkshires cauliflower, broccoli and peas. I am having a cheese pie thing I had in the freezer, yorkies and veg.

Apple pie and custard for pud made with apples which need using up and some in the freezer from my mum.

It's always been a bit of a feast day here even though we aren't religious so dh and I were keen to plan for it as much as possible.

Sausage and mash

I got a small turkey crown, beef joint and gammon (I never do a roast with just one meat 🤦🏻‍♀️) and all the trimmings but with the weather I think we may go for a bbq, chicken and chorizo skewers, steak skewers, burgers and sausages!

We got a 14 pound piece of beef which dh will cook all day on the green egg. Mmm brisket and burnt ends! Will go full South and have mac and cheese, coleslaw etc.

We normally have a roast dinner on a Sunday and my dad always comes round. As Sainsbury’s substituted my roast chicken for diced chicken yesterday, I’m not doing a roast, but I’ve put a big stew in the slow cooker to use up all the veg I needed to get used, and I’m going to drop a tub of it on my dad’s doorstep when I drop his shopping around later on.

I've been planning a big roast for weeks so am lucky enough to have everything. Went out yesterday for first time in 3 weeks to get cauliflower and cheesecake.

A local gastro pub has been doing takeaways so we’ve treated ourselves to their Sunday roast and will be picking it up in a bit. I’m really looking forward to a proper dinner without masses of washing up. Bonus points for not having to actually get dressed up and being able to decamp straight to the sofa afterwards!

Roast gammon, roast pots, carrots, cauli cheese, cabbage, asparagus and Yorkshire puds.

No pots, puds or carrots for me as I'm low carbing. I will have extra greens.

We are lucky to live in a quiet area so managed to navigate the local supermarket and buy a decent turkey. Miss doing things like the NT Easter Hunt and we feel a bit deflated. Hoping to make a few dinners for the freezer with the rest of the turkey... thrilling times

We've booked a takeaway roast from local independent pub... drive to carpark with own plates in car boot along with cash in envelope.. pub staff collect plate and cash then return plates of roast dinner covered in foil to boot, we drive home.

Slow cooked leg of mutton (been in the freezer over a year, was a sheep that lived at the end of our road!), roasties, carrots, cabbage and Stuffing. Would have liked more veg but that's all we have.
