To my 80 year old parent? I have no other reason to make this journey as it's not on the way to the shops or my place of work but I thought it would cheer them up. I'm taking flowers too. It is Easter after all!

Ffs no you can't you stupid idiot and now you've put our much loved parent at risk. I just needed a rant to people who would understand.

If I wasn't NC with this idiot before I certainly my would be now AngryAngryAngryAngryAngryAngryAngry

(I might have PMT, or just COVID-19 rage).

They shouldn't have done it, but did they go inside or just leave outside and retreat? If they just left it outside then at least there is some comfort that your DM is not at any more risk than a normal food delivery, esp if she washed hands after touching packaging.

Ps if they did go inside then Angry is right!

They stayed for a chat in the garden. This is someone who is also going into an extremely vulnerable person's home to do housework every week so god knows what's being passed around.

Another relative thinks 3 bottles of gin is an essential shop. Just gin, nothing else. With a shielded spouse and high risk themselves.
They'll all be completing if lockdown is tightened or extended.

You can get gin delivered!!! No need to leave the house for it.

I bought my parents eggs and delivered them at the same time as delivering the medication I’d picked up from the pharmacy for them.

Special trip? No. Your relative is the problem.

madcatladyforever · 10/04/2020 10:20

No you fucking can't Jesus how many times!!!!!!! Angry

Go on the internet and send them by post like every other normal person.

I've sent my parents letterbox flowers by post and a handmade card (with gloves on) BY POST.

Are you being deliberately obnoxious or are you just plain stupid - there are a hundred posts on here. We're all sick of it.

madcatladyforever · 10/04/2020 10:24

haha just read the post properly - who's stupid now yes me Grin

Watch out Cambridgeshire police are tweeting this morning that they are policing 'the non-essential' aisles of Tesco for... well not offenders because its not illegal to buy any particular items...

Seriously power has gone to the heads of some police forces. What the fuck is essential anyway?

Are they going to raid click and collect B and Q for anyone buying a bag of compost? Compost might be essential if you are trying to grow you own food.

@madcatladyforever you made me smile as that's exactly the kind of rant I had in my head over this. Other family members drove 25 miles to find some woods to walk in when there's a forest up the road and went for a walk with another family member from a different household too. And then there was the one who's girlfriend had symptoms but he was continuing to go out and about instead of isolating with her. And the relative that flew to Dubai and got sent home. It's hard to believe I'm related to them sometimes.

I took my dm a ferrero rocher bunny yesterday, but I bought it when I did the rest of her shopping for her, and I was shopping for my elderly neighbour as well.

I ordered them for my GC and had them delivered. Mind you government ministers can do 80 mile round trips to drop stuff off for their parents so I guess it is OK.
