Is anyone not going outside for their permitted daily exercise?

I am not going out, I do Joe Wicks in the evening and children's Yoga in the afternoon, I only go out to the Supermarket once a week.

FionaJT · 08/04/2020 20:51

I'm not. Where possible I'm cycling to do shopping/allotment (going out about every 4 days). Otherwise I'm spending hours gardening at home (which is saving my sanity) and do a Les Mills online workout a couple of times a week. I am sending the grumpy teenager out for a 10 min walk around the block daily though, or she'd never leave her room.

BigChocFrenzy · 08/04/2020 20:51

Chochito I ordered a gym mat from Adidas which arrived within a few days

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 08/04/2020 20:54

@BigChocFrenzy I've been looking for a mat as my knackered knees don't take kindly to kneeling! I looked at Amazon but delivery was about a month so I didn't bother

I’m in a not particularly scenic part of London so there’s nothing to see on a walk but houses and closed shops! Maybe if I lived in the countryside or by the coast it would be different. I have a medium sized garden and I do go out there every day. I do need to start a form of exercise (been a bit lazy so far) but that will be something on YouTube that I do in the living room. So no I’m not going out of my property at all.

Wannabangbang · 08/04/2020 20:59

Ive only been out once since last week. I'm too scared to go out, even fresh air isn't worth the risk to me. Can safely do step ups on my stairs

Oblomov20 · 08/04/2020 21:00

No. Not interested.

Duffy888 · 08/04/2020 21:03

I’m going out to run most days, I’m used to running 3 times a week and going to the gym other days so just sticking with my routine to keep me sane. Most runners I see are very courteous and move a good distance if anyone is near (myself included). I need to run for my mental and physical health and couldn’t imagine not being able to do it.

Pokemontrainer · 08/04/2020 21:04

I have not been going out at all - the last time I went out was before schools closed apart from 2 walks at very early times of the morning that were half an hour each.

I decided to do this (staying in) as I have a condition and was very scared of getting Covid 19 and I did not want to infect anyone else. I know the risks with my condition but I was not at the severest risk that other people have. I have a small concrete patio / garden.

I miss greenery but I felt I could not trust others to take CV as seriously as me.

Turns out I got covid 19 (I believe from one of the days I went out before the schools closed) I am on the road to recovery.

I am so glad I stayed in.

I don't believe I have infected anyone else .. still waiting for my immediate family to see if I have infected them. That is a great feeling to have.

It has not always been easy but for me it had been the right decision.

Naemates · 08/04/2020 21:23

I went for my first Boris walk on Monday (caving to peer pressure) and it was fine, people were keeping their distance. Still seemed unnecessary, I'm not sure I'll be doing it again for a while.

Murinae · 08/04/2020 21:25

I’m just gardening and painting in our large garden. Not been off our land for over three weeks.

twinnywinny14 · 08/04/2020 21:30

every other day to walk our 2 dogs. We are lucky where we live that we have walks from our doorstep but it is busy as so many others doing the same, otherwise it’s joe wicks and then the garden for fresh air and sunshine

RarePackOfLooRoll · 08/04/2020 21:35

I've been in since 14th March. I been out twice since. Once for a walkmadoumd the block and once to my corner shop.
I used to run along the beach but I can't go anymore as it's closed off thanks to the stupid day trippers arriving In huge numbers mist days. It's still happenning too.

I live in a 1970s semi with a small garden which is all patio..my kids are young adults so its not needed nor big enough for playing in but good enough to sitting in and doing a bit of exercise yoga. I do have a cross trainer and rowing machine
that i use alternate days.

Before all this and before i lost my job i would run along the beach or prom 3 or 4 times a wwwk. My job involved alot of walking so I'm not usually such a couch potato but I don't want that virus in our house. I'm 3 years post cancer and my daughter asthmatic and has a renal condition.

happypotamus · 08/04/2020 21:56

I didn't exercise before and haven't taken it up now. Also, I am allowed to go out to exercise once a day, but I use that up taking DC for a walk. It's a slow walk so not really exercise for me.

Enchantmentz · 08/04/2020 22:02

No not at all really, proving to be really lazy. We have a garden so do get outside in that respect. Been planning to go for an early morning run but again lazyGrin

shopaholic85 · 08/04/2020 22:03

We've only been going out once a week for a walk to let our DD use her scooter. I would find it stressful doing it more than this, because there's always one person who seems unaware of the 2m rule. We are very fortunate to have a garden, and I've been doing Yoga with Adrienne at home as my main form of exercise.

Pleasedontdrawonyoursister · 08/04/2020 22:04

We have a garden, so no not every day. Occasionally I’ll take the kids for a cycle/scoot round the block but we live in a small village where there is nowhere to go really. I have been for the odd run by myself in the evening if we’ve had a rough day and I need to get out!

ClientQueen · 08/04/2020 22:06

Shielding so not going out. Only into my (small) garden

Watsername · 08/04/2020 22:15

No, not been out. We have a garden, though, and that's enough for me :)

I have asthma (vulnerable, not shielded), and am not taking any chances.

BlackandWhiteCat0 · 08/04/2020 22:16

Me, I’ve barely even been in the garden, I teach online fitness classes from my living room.

Chelsea567 · 08/04/2020 22:17

I'm still taking the dog out every morning but it's at least twice as busy as normal with walkers runners and cyclists.

Chelsea567 · 08/04/2020 22:19

Can't persuade my teenager to join me . She's quite happy watching Netflix

H1978 · 08/04/2020 23:09

Self isolating for 14 days finished on Monday but as yet can’t bring myself to go out I’m content and feeling safe in my house and good size back garden for games with dcs and sitting in the sun

CaroleFuckinBaskin · 08/04/2020 23:19

Spraying joggers? Hmm

We go out several times a week for a nice big long walk. We live quite rurally and don't come across many people and when we do it's easy to social distance.

Amortentia · 08/04/2020 23:23

No, but due to the terrible weather over the winter we had the amazing foresight to set up a gym in the garage. We’ve got a treadmill, bike on some fancy electric thing that connects to zoom. Weights, skipping ropes and all sorts of other bits and bobs. I can’t believe how lucky we’ve been, plus we got most things cheap on gumtree. It’s been great and everyone has been out everyday to do something.
