I've just been out to a big Tesco for the first time since this started and I wish I hadn't. Had two arguments, almost a third and at least a dozen people walking within a foot of me.
I take it all back about the ranting on here. You are all right and I'm wrong and the world (at least where I live) is full of fucking idiots.
They've got the tape on the floor for the 2m distance. They've got the arrows going up and down the aisles, so everyone is going the same way. Clear as day and very straightforward.
Waiting to go intro the bread aisle, every time I go to enter there's another one coming the wrong way. Oblivious to the flow of traffic, oblivious to the fact that I'm stood there patiently waiting. So after several attempts, I point out to one woman she's coming the wrong way and she's goes apeshit. "No I'm not, I've already been down this aisle but I've forgotten something so I'm coming back".
Then I'm stood in another aisle which is packed, waiting for people in front of me to move so we can keep the 2m distance. Three people one after the other walked straight past me from behind passing within a foot of me. Again completely oblivious to anyone else, or any of the precautions.
Finally I'm trying to get down the freezer aisle to the tills. On one side is a bloke getting ice cream. But on the other side of the same aisle directly opposite is a bloke just stood there with a trolley. Not shopping, just standing there, so between the two of them they are effectively blocking the aisle. I would have to walk between them passing within 2 feet of each of them.
I eventually ask the man with the trolley if there's any particular reason why he's standing there. Again, flys straight off the handle back at me 'yes there is as it happens I'm waiting for someone'. I feel like saying (but don't) well wait somewhere where you're not blocking the fucking aisle!!
He points to the narrow gap and says there's plenty of room to go past, and I say yeah - 2ft not 2metres - which sets him off again. Thankfully the bloke getting the ice cream eventually moves and I'm able to get through.
Then on the way out they've got the arrows all marking out which way to walk to exit the store and people are just all over the place. It's like a roller derby trying to dodge out of their way.
My first rant but probably not my last!
