When people disappear it would be nice to see if they were alright in the end Flowers any positive endings here?

One of my sister in laws father (76, heavy smoker) was hospitalised in ICU after contracting corona whilst being treated for something else. He had a tough couple of weeks but was discharged, and allowed home
yesterday.

Yes! Broke my neck in Austria I was morphined out of my tits. I’ve also worked in ICU as a nurse it’s actually the best place I ever worked as you can give patients one on one care and be with them all the time. It made me a whole new person. ICU staff are lovely dedicated people.

@Floraflower3 thank you so much I found that really reassuring.

Thanks thank you for those sharing positive stories on this thread. A little glimmer of hope amongst all the sadness. I hope all the friends and relatives recovering continue to do so.

Bimbleboo I'm glad I could provide some assurance to you. These are truly testing times and I've never felt anxiety like this (I've blocked coronavirus from nearly all of my social media) but this positive thread is quite uplifting Flowers

There was a man interviewed on the news today who had been on a ventilator and is now recovering at home

Lovelydovey · 07/04/2020 22:34

My mums neighbour (early 70s) was admitted to hospital last week with COVID-19 (confirmed via testing) and has been on high flow oxygen. She has now defeated it and tested negative. She is due to be discharged tomorrow and although weak is recovering well.

Rupertpenrysmistress · 07/04/2020 22:38

I can tell you that my trust has successfully weaned several covid patients of ventilators, these patients are now on general medical wards and recovering. You don't hear the positive just the death and diagnosis of covid, would be nice to have a comparison.

Kateplaysrugbyinmydreams · 07/04/2020 22:50

We've discharged a good number too and I can think of four colleagues, no five, hang on 6 - who had positive tests and are still going strong. 1 gave us a bit of a scare but he made it through.

Completely agree.
In our local news, every day they announce more deaths at the local hospital.. but I do wonder how many people are also discharged to recover, it would be great to have some positive news aswell.
