What does everyone think of 5G?

What do you all think of 5G?

I've heard so much about it but don't quite get it. I have so many questions.
Is it safe, does it cause cancer, is the lockdown to place 5G satellites everywhere,

I'm a fence sitter but found this interesting..

@TheRoyalTinker

The comments section of that video is full of people encouraging others to destroy phone masts.

Stealhsquirrelnutkin · 07/04/2020 20:54

These are troubled times, it's hard to know who to trust.

Fortunately we are not alone, the League of Lady Conspirators have been on the case since 1919. Effective help is available for those who are willing to follow a few simple instructions.

There's even an educational film, providing sage advice to the public that everyone should see (and sing along to).

I only looked at what the video contained, not looked/interested in comments, so not saying that it's okay, just another perspective.

SomethingOnce · 07/04/2020 20:59

Every mast I’ve seen has been made of metal. Not sure how it’s possible to set one on fire Confused

Barracker · 07/04/2020 21:00

I can't even get 3G yet.
We pretty much use tin cans and string where I live.

vera99 · 07/04/2020 21:03

Utterly barking mad videos there - don't fall for nonsense.

SomethingOnce · 07/04/2020 21:09

We pretty much use tin cans and string where I live.

So that’s how one makes and keeps in place the really powerful hats! Thanks, Barracker

mindproject · 07/04/2020 22:08

It's all so worrying. I'm not worried about the 'virus' at all - I'm still washing my hands and keeping away from people, just in case though.

I am worried that we are losing our freedom of speech, our basic human rights, our free will, our incomes, our education, our children to technology, our right to decide what happens to our bodies, our right to chose whether we have a nanochip (vaccine) implanted in us. We have already lost some of our rights and freedoms and we are about to lose a hell of a lot more.

More people need to stop watching the news and start looking into some of this more carefully. Nobody is going to enjoy the Nazi state when it's here.

ocarinan · 07/04/2020 22:13

our right to chose whether we have a nanochip (vaccine) implanted in us

Put down the bong and step away from the computer...

mindproject · 07/04/2020 22:20

I never smoke drugs, I don't smoke anything, I don't take any drugs, not even aspirin. I don't even drink alcohol. You think bong smokers can be bothered with all this? Stop making stupid assumptions.

TheRoyalTinker · 07/04/2020 23:03

Be kind people, we're all enititled to an opinion and not everyone will agree but we can still be respectful towards each other I hope.
Mindproject, come and join me on the fence(!) and look at all sides, what you perceive may happen, may actually not. I'm not saying you're wrong in any way, just it might help to focus on things you can control such as healthy immune system, good diet etc and do your best to look after yourself so you're in a good position x

ocarinan · 07/04/2020 23:23

So you're just crazy all on your own. Got it.

mindproject · 08/04/2020 00:00

I have a great diet and I exercise every day. I do this anyway.

I've been listening to a lot of conspiracy theorists for a while. At first it can sound a bit crazy, but the more you look at the evidence and you see the lies being told and the cover ups and the contradictions you start to see what is really going on. I know it's hard for someone whose only source of news and information is the propaganda machine. It's difficult to break free from that.

I have some different experiences to you. Most conspiracy theorists don't start out questioning everything, most have an experience or they witness things which means they have to question everything they thought they knew. Most are not crazy.

People should always question authority.

Gilead · 08/04/2020 00:55

You are the egg man That link isn’t entirely accurate.

Gilead · 08/04/2020 01:05

Ah yes, The London Real, broadcasting the Scientist David Icke and run by a man who had a revelation whilst on a heavy duty addiction trail...

esjee · 08/04/2020 01:08

Wow, the nutters are back out tonight I see.

alexdgr8 · 08/04/2020 01:18

well i think anti-vaxxers have caused a lot of unnecessary suffering.
vaccinations have been one of the boons of modern medical science.

ocarinan · 08/04/2020 01:48

There's a lot between questioning authority and getting your information frm youtube crazies and cnvinving yourself that the government are putting mind control chips in vaccines.

What next, 5G is turning the freaking frogs gay?

CousinKrispy · 08/04/2020 07:40

Generally, people who believe one conspiracy theory are found to believe in ALL conspiracy theories, it's not exactly evidence that they are truly carrying out some superior level of rational thought and scrutiny of evidence. They just want to believe something that helps them feel they have inside knowledge in a world that can be frightening.

OP said that "at worst" these theories provided entertainment. I disagree. At worst, they encourage people to carry out violent and destructive acts. They feed the MH problems of some individuals, increasing their paranoia and anxiety. They cause tremendous pain to those targeted by conspiracy theorists (parents of US school shooting victims being arrogantly informed that the whole thing was faked, anyone?). They discourage people from following advice that, on the whole, will save lives and prevent illness--often making these decisions not just for themselves, but their children. And they encourage the rejection of sound scientific thinking, and the valorisation of nonsense in its place.

So, no, OP, I don't think you can get away with innocently pretending it's just a bit of fun and games. Take responsibility for the harms your beliefs, and those of the people you are credulously following, can cause.

CousinKrispy · 08/04/2020 07:40

Oh and it's DEFINITELY turning the frogs gay

mindproject · 08/04/2020 13:44

CousinKrispy - I see you don't believe in freedom of speech, of freedom of thought, even. Why is that I wonder? We should be allowed to discuss everything that is going in the world. If we can't then we are on a very slippery slope.

Rebelwithallthecause · 08/04/2020 13:52

A slippery slope to people not wanting to listen to complete codswallop?

Its a considerable waste of time often when you know that certain theory’s have been disproven but you’re still being spoke to by theorists that believe and will find any reason to doubt the truth.

The only people I know who are full on with conspiracies have too much time on their hands and don’t know what to fill it with

The grand scheme of things - if there are conspiracies out there that ‘they’ are hiding from the world, a few people second guessing those isn’t going to change a thing.

wrongsideofhistorymyarse · 08/04/2020 13:58

It's absolutely fine to spout bollocks, mind. It's not fine to insist people take it seriously.

Lonelycrab · 08/04/2020 14:09

A slippery slope to people not wanting to listen to complete codswallop?

Precisely. If you can’t/won’t answer or even speculate the answer to some very basic questions wrt conspiracies, then there is not really much of a debate to be had. Here’s a few examples.

Coronavirus: how does a low strength, hi frequency 5g signal interact with a sub microscopic CV to make humans more susceptible? What is the mechanism involved?

Flat earthers: if I phone my friend in NZ and he tells me the sun is going down as I am observing sunrise, and I also phone a friend in India who says it’s lunchtime, how can this be explained? Are there multiple suns for each person on (flat) earth?

Chem-trailers: if indeed we are being controlled by stuff coming from plane engines 7 miles up, how is it that those involved in plane refuelling and maintenance don’t suffer exaggerated effects due to being exposed at far higher levels than the general population?

Very basic questions that don’t really have logical answers. Ignoring the basic is actually the opposite of free speech- it’s blindly believing what you’ve been told. In my opinion.
