What does everyone think of 5G?

What do you all think of 5G?

I've heard so much about it but don't quite get it. I have so many questions.
Is it safe, does it cause cancer, is the lockdown to place 5G satellites everywhere,

Some of these are brilliantly ridiculous (or would be if some morons weren't burning down towers putting more pressure on emergency services....because well yeah , that's a really smart thing to do right now)

I particularly like the one about covid being a cover to put masts in childrens school playgrounds. I mean , logically thinks about it, the children will go back to school eventually . (I do really hope so, turns out I am not good at teaching the times tables) is it just me that must have an unnaturally small DC school playground? Because I am pretty fucking sure I would notice a giant 5g mobile mast.

I mean before lockdown i noticed one of ds1 friends mums had dyed her hair so ya know, clearly I'm observant.

I'm reasonably sure i would not then waltz away thinking oooh clever them sneaking it in whilst the entire world isolated, well done chaps.

I assume my next response would be something along the lines of 'Have you lost your ever loving minds ? Where the fuck will the DC play teenage mutant ninja turtles now?'....or you know....cough cough ' I dont think that's the best idea ever ' (more realistic.

We’re still 3G and quite happy I’m not paying a fortune for data I don’t need or use. My phone is for call text and kindle. My games are on my iPad and not many at that.

WotchaTalkinBoutWillis · 07/04/2020 01:26

Before people could blame 5g for COVID they were putting the blame on it for suicides in the area

What?

ocarinan · 07/04/2020 01:27

@BubblyBarbara

People who want to criticise anti 5G campaigners are standing against centuries of free speech in this country which is an insult to those who fought and died for that right.

What bullshit. We're using our free speech to criticise conspiracy nuts. Freedom of speech doesn't mean freedom from criticism. Or are you suggesting people shouldn't be free to criticise you?

catscatscatseverywhere · 07/04/2020 02:05

Are you asking about conspiracy theories or 5g in general? Because in general, I am not the fan of the idea. We have very strong routers at home, everything is wireless nowadays, I really think 5g is not necessary, but I can understand the reasons behind it. Luckily it does not seem like we have 5g already in West Yorkshire ?

Reginabambina · 07/04/2020 02:17

Bloody hell, you’ve all been smoking too much weed. I appreciate that we all love different realities and it’s natural to be sceptical of things that we don’t understand or relate to but this level of suspicion is downright paranoia. So is this need to ‘research’ everything. No one can know everything.

aurynne · 07/04/2020 02:39

Those people dropping dead of COVID19 in developing countries where there is no 5G must be all faking it then...

ClareVH · 07/04/2020 03:22

Yeah, but the people in power live in the same world as us, so they would suffer also. So why do this? This theory is NUTS!!!

GCAcademic · 07/04/2020 04:39

I mean before lockdown i noticed one of ds1 friends mums had dyed her hair so ya know, clearly I'm observant.

Shinyletsbebadguys - obviously not observant enough. Think about it. Her hair has turned a different colour due to the 5g mast in the school playground transmitting species-mutating radiation to her brain. This is simply the first stage. The next stage in her eventual transformation to lizard is her skin turning to scales, before her blood lowers in temperature. I’m telling you, don’t go back to that playground, or they will get you too. You have been warned!

Bluewavescrashing · 07/04/2020 04:49

Excellent idea for a Black Mirror episode

Thanks for the entertainment, folks

happymumof22019 · 07/04/2020 06:25

Well this thread both cheered me up and made me fear for humanity.

I wonder when the mast will go up next to our primary school I am desperate for some faster internet. This whole staying inside will have been more than worth it. Maybe they’ll get the new runway built at Heathrow while they’re at it. Maybe that’s why the more or less shut down air travel....well that and so that the places wouldn’t see all the new 5g masts 🙄

happymumof22019 · 07/04/2020 06:26

Sorry people on the planes wouldn’t see the masts.

Sweetener12 · 07/04/2020 07:00

I hope 5G will be there soon. It transmits data more efficiently which is very important for us nowadays, when basically everything is put in the Net. I mean, we can recover our data but we still need to wait till the video or the large documents are sent to our friends!
More transmission capacity and bandwidth are on their way and all the software updates will be delivered faster to the vehicles, I really hope to be alive when it all becomes our reality. There will be some problems, of course, with the autonomous cars, for example, but I hope the developers will find a way to solve them.

Lonelycrab · 07/04/2020 07:04

Bloody hell, you’ve all been smoking too much weed.

This x 1000. Put the fucking king size rizla down and go and read some stuff by scientists and engineers that actually understand wavelengths and signal amplitude.

And I say that as a smoker myself.

There’s far more signal strength in your WiFi router, and the signal type and strength is no different to 3G/4G

Lonelycrab · 07/04/2020 07:19

And to the PP who said everyone is entitled to their own opinion, yes they are. If you think that, say, the tooth fairy is responsible for HIV that’s fine.

But if you then start smashing up your local dentist surgery then we have a problem.

Spongebobette · 07/04/2020 09:33

The batshit crazy posts on FB about the virus/5G/ the elites etc that I’ve seen have an underlying thread of antisemitism, (the Rothschilds, George Soros are behind it all)
I always report them

ocarinan · 07/04/2020 11:45

A lot of these conspiracies have anti-Semitic roots if you dog deep enough.

MangoesAreMyFavourite · 07/04/2020 11:58

The same was said of steam engines too
www.ianvisits.co.uk/blog/2018/01/18/how-steam-trains-drove-victorians-to-acts-of-madness/amp/

I think Socrates was against the written word too - he thought it would spoil our brains...
Basically, any new technology seems to get the same reception untill it gets old.

MangoesAreMyFavourite · 07/04/2020 12:04

Where the fuck will the DC play teenage mutant ninja turtles now?

They won't need to play it anymore... Mwah hah hah hah ha... They will BE the teen age mutant ninjas!!! Mine would be over the moon!

wrongsideofhistorymyarse · 07/04/2020 12:37

I agree with previous posters that some people need to put down the weed.

HIVpos · 07/04/2020 16:29

And to the PP who said everyone is entitled to their own opinion, yes they are. If you think that, say, the tooth fairy is responsible for HIV that’s fine.

Damn - you mean I've been getting it wrong all this time?? Shock

vera99 · 07/04/2020 16:36

They have used it on Prince Charles and Boris. Charlie though has a genuine tin foil hat so has avoided the worse effects. Boris in his arrogance and support for Huawei regretfully didn't get the memo.

mindproject · 07/04/2020 18:50

The London Real (YouTube) hour long video on the virus and 5G has just been taken down. I only got to watch half of it before it went down, so I am disappointed. It seems they don't even want people to talk about it. Which is worrying in itself.

Stop it with tinfoil hat reference. It's so boring now.

Letthemysterybe · 07/04/2020 18:55

I do think think that 5G is in anyway linked to the virus. But I’d rather stick with the perfectly adequate 4G that we have instead of 5G plus a ugly great big tower looming over my valley.

Tdaadfb100 · 07/04/2020 19:35

Who know what is going on ..but something feels very, very ‘off’ about this whole thing. There is something awful happening and the media are ramping up the fear for reasons we don’t know. The statistics of cases and death are not to be beloved (lack of testing/way the report causes of deaths) Just don’t believe everything you are told. Do your own research and decide for yourself.
Governments/Elites etc lie all the time. Just keep an open mind and keep yourself safe, whatever you believe.
I don’t believe that our government even knows what the hell us going on. Rabbit in the headlights reaction.
